Take a look at later model NA Cressida's, more chance of finding one that hasn't been abused :)
Don't stress about the crabby thing I went through all this shit here during my build and ended up spending mega $ to ressurect a dead 7M crank so I understand fully.
Friends I've made through owning mine and that it didn't manage to kill me before it went ;)
(anyone that knows the 240z story and what happened to my Mk3 will understand the last bit)
Was always happy to help you out when I could Justin, drop in from time to time and say hi! :)
(just cos you don't have a Mk3 doesn't mean you're not still family)
Just means that the shop is talking shit about the balance Tracey, Mic it up and if it's in good condition and within spec just order up the correct bearing shells from Toyota.

Yes the pivot bolt for the upper arm needs to be removed, you can undo the nut then slide the bolt forward far enough to get it out, you may have to slip it in behind the plastic inner fender to clear.
These cars can be a Money Pit bar none, if you don't have a huge budget it's better to stay small and enjoy the car for what it is instead of getting into a bankbuster build and looking at it on stands for the next 5 years :(
