dude, you just need to take more time finding the RIGHT one. Its ok for it to have problems, they just need to be within the realm of fixability for your skill level (or you need the budget to have someone else fix it). Dont forget to clean and lube the part that goes through the cowl, that the wiper arm attaches too. Once you take the linkage off you can see if it turns smoothly.

had a similiar problem on my old celica and I took all the linkage a part, cleaned, greased and reassembled and they were tons better. However, after running them that way for so long, I ended up replacing the motor anyway and that helped a little bit more.
