by pulling the spark plug wires one at a time, sometimes you can isolate which rod is knocking (this doesnt work if you have a bad main bearing) because you remove the pressure of combustion.

Ive had to do this several times recently. Most recently I did an auto to 5 speed swap on my mk2 in about 6 hours. That included the pedals and hydraulics. Not the fastest time on earth but Im kind of methodical in my madness.

Scott, police reports are a matter of public record. Please take the time as soon as possible to go to the precinct and ask for a copy of the report. There may be a followup report from the supervisor as well that you might want to try to locate. Your dads lawyer is probably going to do this...

Ive reached all my short term goals. Made it a solid daily driver, no codes, no noises, feels great, looks good. Long term goals: I want to retire it from DD status and do something unusual for a swap/upgrade (tubo 6M/1UZ/?). If it goes toy status I doubt I would ever be able to call it done...
