It's Alive! We put some time into it this week and got it done today. It fired right up with all the basic settings on the maft pro. I have a code for egr but I expected that. I only drove it a little today so I would be sure it would make it to the big TORC car show in Long Beach tomorrow. I am...
I hear you guys about where people say is the best spot for the air temp sensor but I doubt the Toyota engineers would be wrong about putting it in the plenum on 1jz, 2jz, and Turbo A engines. Makes me wonder if people say the intake piping is the best because it is the easiest to remove and put...
I understand what you guys are saying, but, itsn't the object of a air temp sensor to get the actual air temp as it goes into the engine? Why measure the temp where it is cooler? I hear the Turbo A engine had a sensor in the same place I put mine.
Ok, now I understand. So the air kinda sits in the manifold and heats up right there? Hmmm, well I could plug it and put it somewhere else. Where is the best spot?
You mean heat soak from the head? I figured that was as far away from the exhaust as it could get, but I don't have an egr valve. I have seen people put them in the 3k pipe but I think that would be worse and I think it should be after the tb, right?
Thanks! The manifold clears the stock oil filter housing fine but I moved the filter because I am also installing a bigger oil cooler, and a remote filter that will not make me use every cuss word in the book while changing my oil! I also am using a remote oil thermostat so the cooler is...
Well I got a little more done on my maft pro install, it is almost ready to start as soon as I get the turbo stuff all finished up. Here is what I did for the air temp sensor and the map sensor vacuum line fitting:
Polishing my shaft was no problem. :naughty:
You can see I finally got the...

I was thinking the same thing just now, I am coming from the point of warning people not to run a maft to get rid of their fuel cut when their main issue might be that they need a bigger injector. I know that is not always the case.
You answered before I was done editing my post.
WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A AFM SCALING DEVICE. its a MAFT we are talking about in this whole thread. Everything I said is with reguards to a maft.

I quoted you by accident yannis, I was actually referring to the good doctor. Either way I would like to get the correct info so I can be a part of the solution rather then part of the problem, if that is the case. I know on the maft the fuel injector size affected the karman freq needed to make...
Hopefully I am not part of the mis-information, i'm just trying to help. Honestly I don't have first hand tuning experience with the maft pro yet but I ran the maft for several years and did lots of tuning and adjusting of that.
