If that was helicoiled then it could be the nut, just buy a new lock nut at your local Toyota dealer for about $1. They used to actually lock when they were new.
The nut is not coming loose, the stud is slowly pulling out of the head. Every time you tighten it it gets worse until it will not tighten at all.
You can helicoil for 10mm X 1.25 and put a new locknut and stud on there, and that can be done without removing the manifold. My car did the same...
Cut the tubes down a little on the engine stand bolt holes and use the bellhousing bolts from the 1jz. :icon_wink They are usually only 1/4" too short to work. Or I think some old 7m main bolts may fit.
I love you too :naughty:
Same thing happened in Vegas, and my friend Dave's 14 sec stock 1jz was the fastest mk3 and faster then most of the bpu mk4's :biglaugh:
I think there should be a handicap based on how much money was spent on the car :biglaugh:
Plus, it usually goes something like this:
$10,000 MK3 = 12 sec Supra
$80,000 MK4 = 12 sec Supra
That is why it's a bad idea to shim the wg instead of a boost control. The wg actuator can only open so far, and when you shim it the fully open position is that much less open then it was before, then you put the new dp on which makes the turbo spool faster because it has less backpressure, and...
The clutch is supposed to have only a small amount of freeplay, but some people are used to driving on an old clutch :icon_razz
I will adjust it for free however you like when you come by the shop.
You can find a nice one when you take your time like you planned on doing.
It's a fun car, you will love it! The 89+ targa 5 speed with grey interior seems to be the most sought after, and the late models with the shadow grey interior are my personal favorite. I do like the early front bumper...
Hello! Nice to have you here.
My advice would be to assume that any Supra that is for sale has had the first signs of bhg, even the people who say the engine was just rebuilt. Drive the car for at least 30-45 minutes and find some hills to climb or drive it hard for a while and watch the...
I'm not disagreeing with Jeff, if you can afford it then go with the mk4 pump.
$300 might be full retail at the most expensive dealership in town but $200 is about average.
Open wg ftw! The ct26 is not super loud with the BIC ddp, and it's kinda cool sounding. It only opens at full boost so you can kinda control when you want it to be quiet. Go with the BIC ddp recirculated if you don't want attention, it still performs basically the same.
If you want loud try...
