You might get more horsepower in the midrange from the cam gear adjustments, but there is no way you could make 60whp more peak at 18psi from said adjustments. You are going to need more boost, probably about 24psi to hit 500whp. 500whp is like 575 crank hp, what size injecotrs are you running?
If the engine trashed a rod bearing, I guarantee that the crank will be at least several thousandths under on that journal, and polishing is not going to fix that.
Here is my recipe:
Magnaflux the block, head, and rods first. Don't spend money machining junk parts. :icon_wink
Deck the block and surface the head for a mhg, very smooth surface required. Ask if the shop has a "CBN" mill. A 50 year old fly cutting machine ain't gonna cut it. (pun intended)...
Clevite has standard, .010" under, and .020" under rod bearings, they do not offer .030" under anymore.
I would recommend resizing the rods on every 7m build, then checking the crank journals and grinding it if necessarry. Even if you go with the same bearing sizes Toyota used for your rods...
I worked out a little better pricing on these with my distributor today and I will do them for $280 shipped (in the US). I'll give you the same price HID Planet.
The MSRP is $411, but even AEM is selling them on their website for $345.:dunno:
I hate when that happens :biglaugh:
They get brittle with age and sometimes there is no way to get them off without cracking. They will stay on without the clips, but if you want to be sure then you can buy that harness for about $25 from Toyota.
LOL brackets are aluminum. Maybe we should look into plastic though.... LOL
I really liked driving the Cressida. The 4 doors are nice when you are used to a Supra. Driving one that is a sleeper like the 7m-gte one was fun because you know how bad the other dude would feel after getting...
