I'd have to agree with the above posters and go fully custom. For the money I have in my IJ to 7M FFIM, I could have easily gone custom for less. They do look pretty good mounted, but the inside is not smooth at all. Not to mention, getting around the TPS issue is a RPITA!!!
I haven't even messed with it since I last posted. The surface rust in the spare tire well turned out to be pretty deep, so I just ended up cutting the entire bottom out. Now I'm going to have to bang the new steel to conform to the box before I install it, which seems like a pain so I've been...
As long as they're top feed and low impedence, you should be good. Did they come with clips or are they suppose to work with the factory ones? Either way, I'd have them properly flow tested before I would use them.
The reason I like it is because it matches my powder coated valve covers perfectly. I had the lines ground and polished and the rest coated black. So this oil cap is identical.
So I guess there's no way to know for sure if it fits? Is there some specific questions I can ask the seller that...
I was looking for just a plain-jane oil cap with no logos for my 7MGTE and I think I found one on ebay that fits the bill. However, it just says "Toyota JDM All Models". I emailed the seller and asked if it fit the Supra and he said that it should since it's universal.
Btw, here's the link...
I actually just saw one of these turbo's the other day on a Grand National outside of Napa Parts in Newark NJ. I can't comment on the turbine since the turbo was installed, however, inducer housing looked similar in size to the ct-26 with the exception that it was really really narrow. The...
That's true. I have a ITS 60-1 Stage 3 that is a direct bolt-on. It only has around 3000 miles on it. Great turbo. Quick spool. Good for around 450whp. I'll be selling it with an unused hardline kit just as soon as my Turbonetics 62-1 turbo gets here.:naughty:
Keep your eyes out for it...
I'm currrently running Nippon Denso's out of an 87 RX7 Turbo. Make sure you get the low impedence ones. Pretty sure the later models use high impedence injectors which are incompatible with our engines.
Just keep your ears to the ground. Check the forums regularly and craigslist as well. A couple of years ago I scored a R154 w/ a Spec Stage 3 Clutch along with everything I needed for the Auto-MT swap for $450 shipped off of a member on SF. I'm not saying you could score the same deal, but deals...
I was going the MAFT-PRO route until I started reading through the dozens of threads on SM and SF. By the time I was done I was half cross-eyed, a little confused, and totally intimdated. I went VPC w/ SAFC and never looked back.
Good luck finding a functional VPC with correct ROM, temp and...
I bought a chrome one years ago off ebay for around $100. Build quality is good and the fittings and clamps are actually much nicer than what the current kits on ebay offer.
I never ended up using it for fear of what others have already stated. I went with an Aeromotive setup instead. That...
Crap! Now I find that due to the application of JB Weld, the coils are now coming out with the studs. So now I have 3 completely stripped holes. I guess I'll just got a stud size up and helicoil.
Will that driftmotion kit work for me in this case. I can't remember the size of the bit needed...
10x1.25 Helicoil kit from Autozone.
And I bought new studs directly from Toyota.
3 studs bite and stay. 4 studs don't. I just don't get it .
Wait, how important is it to use the actual Toyota nuts? 2 studs that are staying are using original nuts, 1 that is staying is using...
First off, the engine is out of the vehicle. The thing is completely rebuilt and I had to helicoil both the intake and exhaust side due to the threads striping when the manifolds were removed. I screwed brand new studs from Toyota into both the intake and exhaust sides of the head. The lower...
I did a crap soldier job on my new clips and I just don't trust them. So I'm going the shielded crimp route.
What guage crimps do I need? Guessing, I'd say 20 guage but I'd like to know for sure.
FYI, my new clip's wires appear identical in guage to the OEM ones I removed.
