My friend worked in their service dept. People spend crazy money on service when ever the service now light comes on. If you are handy, I guess go for it. I still would get a Toyota.
I think I even said, right then, never loan out your bike. Having seen the car, I can begin to feel your pain.
The way you described the crash, it's like worst case scenario. The bike, the parts, or the car alone would have been bad enough. But all three? ouch.
Do you have a tester? I would try to find where the lo circuit splits into two for the lights, and follow and test that. I'm guessing it splits. I guess I would try the TSRM wiring thing, and test stuff. HTH
