Gauge cluster has to come out and taken apart to get the gauge out. Should be fairly easy to get.
Could also test the wire with an ohm meter. Wire goes from the sensor to the body plug by the Ecu through the engine harness. And...
If nake sure the grounds are on the intake and not the starter. It's 2white wires and 2brown.
Does the check engine light come on with the key only in the on position?
Have any codes?
I'd set the timing at 10 and leave it. If it runs like crap find out why.
Also when setting either timing it's best to make sure the piston is at true tdc by pulling no1 plug and inserting a chop stick or something similar. The bonded rubber on the crank pulley goes bad over the years making...
Everyone leaves the plastic off because it's either broken or there always working on it. In order to take the cover off you have to remove the t stat housing.
You can either lengthen it or cut a hole in the firewall and have it run in the dash. I cut the hole. Looks cleaner and less head aches involved with lengthening.
If you lengthen it need to take the stuff around the wires off and do 1 wire at a time and add about 1 foot of wire to each one...
You broke the connector? Why not just get a new connector.
