Some early 90 will work on 89. I've done it 2 of my friends cars.
If the body plugs fit they will work. But if its a yellow plug car there's going to be some wires that need to be swapped.
18/10 25 here to 255 front and 265 rear. 275 fits fine in back as well. 265 up front rubs when super slammed. Can fit 295 rear and 285 front if the slam in not super aggressive.
Ms3 can do what ever you want it to. Cold and hot start idles. Can run off stock isc or a gm or ford isc.
If you make your own harness from scratch can have seq fuel stock is not so wiring a patch harness will not work for that. Stock does have seq ignition tho.

Rock auto has a oem style hose for 50$.
And napa online shows they have only one that you can order onlin and pick up in store for 80$.
Stock intake is a cold air intake. Not going to see gains from a hot air intake.
Could modify a stock air box to get a little more air through tho.
The ge is hard to make big gains. It's possible but will take money and turbo swap cheaper in the long run.
