I've used a Spec for about 6 months now with no problems. Again they claim 11lbs and most people say its just a fidanza rebadged, so it probably is 11lbs. Like Shaeff said the gear is heat treated steel and like pressed in some special way for durability.
^ you are so far off its not even funny.
I don't know of more then one MAYBE person running one. I think because we can use an AEM EMS and its plug and play as far as sensors. So yea, thats what I would reccommend as far as engine management beyond a piggyback.
I saw that too on Street Fury (worst show I've ever witnessed)... personally all I thought was "what an ass... and man, that car is dirty and nasty looking."
But... thats just what I though.
I think you're supposed to have it in a spot where someone can just reach over and smack it easily if say, you're unconceous(sp?) from an accident. Thats as far as making it race legal, AFAIK.
Whats the point of running an e-manage and a MAFT? Doesn't the MAFT do 90% of what an e-manage does anyway?
I think it would just make it un-necessarily tricky to tune perfectly.
My next shock will be a Bilstein, its not dampening adjustable but with a proper spring that should not be too much of a problem.
However, I would reccomend you stay far far away from 935motorsports.com
I reccomend everyone who KNOWS their engine is in rough shape do this frequently. Oh, and healthy turbo engines even love being beat on before they are warm too. :3d_frown:
Okay, that's what I was thinking. I knew about it for higher RPM applications but I don't actually hear about many people doing it to motors with stock rev limiters. Got it now though! Thanks IJ!
BTW, with going up to a harder spring is it a good idea to get better retainers and such as well...
I don't quite understand the benefit to having stiffer valve springs at higher HP levels. Essentially are they needed simply to make sure that the valves seal properly under the much higher stresses at hundreds of HP over stock?
I missed your asking about odyssey. I use one, the 680 model. weighs about 15 lbs and is roughly 1/3 a normal battery and the same height as an optima red top.
It works very very well for being so small. But realize that if your car is NOT a daily driver you will need to keep a charger on it of...
The testing thing had crossed my mind as well. But the rule was no flaming, not, no opinions, which I know 1st hand shaeff can appreciate people's opinions. :)
