    Shifter Bushing keeps going out!?!

This is the bushing I had to replace. Not sure any more if we're all talking about the same one... Where the red arrow is pointing.

    Shifter Bushing keeps going out!?!

CRE: No prob., glad I could help. Thanks for the links to Marlin Crawler. I got the seat and socket from Toyota, but I think I'm gonna get those and swap 'em out. Chris89: Thanks for this thread. The bushing came off my latest shifter, and got caught up under the shift lever housing...

    Shifter Bushing keeps going out!?!

The black dust shield is just pressed on. Just tap it off (after you pull the drive shaft, of course), and you can pry that seal right out. Oh yeah, hey, can you drop us a part number for the shifter housing bushing? I need to do mine to one of these days...

    JDM 7M-GE

I agree with IJ. The stock head bolts in my car are torqued to 75 ft. lbs., and I didn't even buy new ones (yeah, I know, shame on me). I will recommend using new bolts to everyone else though, just to be safe. By the way, How's that "halfassed" build of yours coming IJ? Don't recall...

    Supra 7M-GE Ricer exhaust!

Finally got my OBX header back(had the y pipe welded to the collectors), and put new 2 1/4" pipe(from the test pipe back), 24" glasspack, and a 2 chamber flow on. Almost as quiet as stock, and a noticeable difference in the torque band. With the stock manifold, test pipe, no resonator, and a...

Supramacist: there's a 12 volt rewire you have to do to run the Walbro pump. I remember reading something about it on sf...

    Shifter Bushing keeps going out!?!

Chris 89: Are you trying to get the "shift lever housing" in this link off? http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=MT&Page=34 Look on the big end of the extension housing. There's some tabs around the outside edge. You need to gently tap these tabs toward the back of...

    Misfire at idle w/normal temp

CRE: That makes sense. Now that you mention it, an AFM or TPS problem would have similar symptoms. AFM: http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&Page=94 TPS: http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&Page=101 Just in case you don't have 'em...

    Throwout Bearing/ Year & Installation?

Put the pics up in the vBPicGallery. The one labeled mod is what you need. I just squeezed the ends of the clip together with pliers to make it hold the bearing snugly on the fork.

    Throwout Bearing/ Year & Installation?

Turns out, I have the same throw out bearing you do. The reason I was gonna change it was because it squeaks if I don't have my foot on the pedal. I'm gonna order a new throw out bearing from Toyota tomarrow. I should have the pics I took today uploaded to myspace in a little bit. I'll post...

    Misfire at idle w/normal temp

Have you run a fuel pressure test? Still kinda leaning toward an injector problem. Do you know which cylinder(s) its missing on? Or is it random?

    Throwout Bearing/ Year & Installation?

Yeah, it looks pretty beat up. It's supposed to be round and smooth, where yours looks kinda square on the end I can see. I'd check the dealer and make sure its still available before you take it out, though. I don't think the type of oil you use will disintegrate the nylon bushing on the...

    Bad Rod Bearing?

Check the tensioner pulleys. Sounds like the bearings in one of them went bad. Take the belts off and make sure everything spins freely. Check the clutch on the a/c compressor. The pulley should spin freely, and you should be able to turn the center part by hand. If all the accessories and...

    Throwout Bearing/ Year & Installation?

The washers are to keep you from crushing the rubber gasket. Yes, you need them. The shift fork looks fine, but the bushing where the shifter goes looks a little worse for wear. It looks like the clip on the throw out bearing is upside down. I should, if the lift's clear, be pulling mine...

    Build Update

Iirc, only the Illumina 2's work with the tems, at least, I haven't seen any others. For any normal shock, you leave the actuators off the top. I went Bilstiens with stock springs. Ride's a little harsh under 50 mph, but stays nicely stuck to the road into the upper limits of 5th gear....
