If your car is a pre 89, then it likely came with the plug for the super monitor. I think it has "29" written on the plug usually.

You can get a poly bushing set from suprasport. Thats probably one of the first things id do if im trying to bring a high mileage car back to a newer feeling.

I have always taken it off from underneath... never been a problem or hassle for me. I find its easier to pull it off and push on from the bottom. Im a small guy though.
