I used to have a 3g accord, anything that broke on that car was under $100. It was well over 200k miles when the headgasket blew. Swapped a new engine in, and sold it for a decent profit. That's when I bought my first supra :D.
I was planning on doing the same thing over summer myself. I want to do one of the 7mge swaps into a toyota truck. I have an extra gte motor but I'd like to swap a ge. Reason being I want some decent mileage (keep in mind it uses regular not premium) and also not lose control of the backed...
Too late, already did it through the front, I just poured really slow and made sure it went in and filled all the valleys. I got all I needed in. Actually in the time it took to pour I could have dropped the subframe or went to the store for a bolt extractor :<.
When I changed mine out the bushing had turn to a brown piece of gross and fell in the transmission. I was able to fish it out though. The gasket was in pretty good shape however...
My filler plug is about to strip out, and I don't have a new one to replace it. I'd hit it with a torch but it's so close to the gas tank :D. Before I totally destroy it, I thought of an idea. Can I just fill the differential oil through the driveshaft shaft side as long as I get my 1.3 qts in...
Mine would die after hard driving if I put the clutch in after I did quite a few mods. I reset the ECU yesterday so it could re-learn and it hasn't died yet.
I have an extra set of ge valve covers that I'd like to install on my gte but I didn't think it was possible because of the coil pack mounts. Has anyone done this, because the ge covers look alot cooler.
I just got my stuff from them, ordered about two weeks ago. I am very happy, Jack was super helpful in making sure I got the right parts I needed. He told me up front that it would take a couple days for all the parts to come in, and it was very quick. I hadn't used them since they went under...
I was wondering if I should reset the ECU or not after modding. I added new ic pipes, lex afm, safc, afpr. Would the most gain from letting it relearn, or use the old timing settings? Also is it better to reset the ECU before or after a/f tuning?
Hmmm on second thought unplugging the battery...
Your CPS is probably just one tooth off. Following the TSRM didn't help me as much as jblmk3s guide to setting the CPS. http://www.jblmk3.com/id92.htm.
I personally used blue when I did my tranny oil pan. The backs should say ideal uses. The black is for areas in contact with oil (ie. valve covers, oil pan), so out of the two I'd go with red.
How many of us are going to be there Thursday night?

If I get my car registered and tuned I will be there. Plenty of time for all that.
You could probably use flare fittings, and flare out the factory hard line. I went through the same thing two weeks ago, it turned out to be way too much hassle to find all the right fittings and lines. I just ordered a premade kit with all the right fittings (and also bypasses the J-tube) from...
Yeah thays a 5mge motor, probably not worth getting. If your planning on turbocharging it, keep in mind many mkii guys swap to the 7mgte. I'm sure they have a reason.
I've had the same problem on two supras. The ground is connected through a rivet in the map light assembly. With age the rivet gets corroded and won't conduct at all. You'll need to drill out the rivet and solder the wires straight.
You don't really need bigger injectors with the lexus, just make sure you can flow more fuel. This can be accomplished with tuning as long as your stock injectors are up to the task.I'm sticking with my 440s but I also have a fuel pump, afpr and I'm going to get my SAFC tuned.
The only...
