There is a differance between the studs comming loose and the nuts comming loose. Helicoiling the studs, will do nothing for preventing the nuts from comming loose. Yes its a good idea to heilcoil the studs, but you should also replace the nuts with new ones. A crimped style lock nut does over...
wrong section first off, second it depends on what motor you are looking at swapping and third, if you use the search, you will find info on. Myself, I am in the process of swapping a toy/lex 1UZ v8 into mine along with that, SYST is swapping a LS1 into his. Write-ups on both swaps can be found...
1) Being gas powered means nothing. I am curious as to whether you are meaning that as in gas (meaning gasoline and not say diesel) or electric. If you are meaning gas and not diesel, then you need to look at the Audi R8 racecar cause they are TDI diesel powered. If you are meaning electric...
No, not that I have ever seen. OEM's that have both Hi and low are Bi-xenon and its still just one bulb but the horizontal cut-off shield moves when you flip to hi beems. There are a few aftermarkets that fo this in the bulb, but it is no wheres near as good. If you really want to do it, Get...
Yes, leave the top port open and hook the boost signal line to the lower port. The top port should really have a filter of sort on it, but I along with many others have never had a problem with out one.
No, its the other way around. The feed goes into the lower port. the uper port is open unless you are using a boost controler. If you hook the line to the top port, boost will only hold the wastegate closed and you will over boost. DON'T DO IT
Just as Jon Stated, do a leak down test. Compresson tests are not very accurate all the time. (example, I did a compresson test on motor about a month ago and it showed great compression, yet with a leak down, we found that it did have a burnt exhaust valve and seat on the #4 cylinder). You have...
Now I will agree fully that a major part of the problem is that the motor is not built right in the MKIV for racing and thats where the problem is (basically a dyno queen). He cant even come close to getting full boost until the top of third gear and between 1/2 and 3/4 track. Yeah, on the...
Actually the supra is built to drag to a point, I am not sure of what all suspension work is done, and I am sure that more could be done and the mustang is mildly built for draging also, but nothing major. I do know for a fact they are both running slicks (not D.O.T drag radials but full on...
Well I doubt that the MR2 kit would work in the MKIII, but same Idea would be great. I actually started working on that same exact idea a while back and never finish cause I found a small problem that I bet a lot of people have no idea about and that is that the head light bracket / hinge...
It has nothing to do with low numbers. Is a proven fact. Example, I can take you right now and show you a buddy's MKIV that is dynoing right at 892 RWHP and put it up against his brothers 587RWHP Mustang and the Mustang will kick the hell out of the MKIV the hole way down the track any day of...
There is a power increase! The amount will vary based on other supporting mods. (i.e. a 100% stock car will not gain as much as a car that has say a cat-back and so-on ect.)
You have to remember that power is generated by a system of components (motor, fuel, ignition, intake, exhaust, turbo...

over power, and lack of lubrication. Its a bad design. Most manufactures pack it with grease, but its not sealed and gear oil washes it out and is not thick enough to support the bearing (no pressure like engine bearings).
I actually moddified one on an RX-7 tranny (same design) to use a...
Btw, that bearing gets noisy with age also. Very common on most RWD tranny's. That design is also the common reason for input shaft failure on hi power cars. Ford / Tremic realized that several years ago and redesigned it to accept a tapered roller bearing. The 93 Cobra T-5 was the first to use...
Most likely the bearing between the input shaft an main shaft. There is a small cylintrical roller bearing in there. That bearing is work in every gear except 4th. While in 4th gear, the 3rd / 4th gear clutch hub sleeve is interlocking the input shaft and main shaft hence the reason that the...
