    Structural Integrity

Yeah, I can post some up tomorrow night. I may throw in some subframe connectors and a cage before it comes out, but I want to drive it next summer and that just means more money...

    1UZ into my MKIII

The T56 is not that bad of a fit. The firewall/tunnel entrance requires some massaging, the shifter hole must be enlarged depending on how far back you mount the engine and the same goes for the left side transmission stamped mount.

    Structural Integrity

I have a question for anyone who may know the answer. In the process of fitting up my LS6/T56 setup I have needed to remove both OEM transmission mounts (frame side). To do that I simply drilled out the spot welds. I also removed the bracket that holds the handbrake lever using the same...

    New - SUPRAMANIA STICKERS -

I'll pick up two "third option" stickers. You know, the option with no circle and the "Supra" in MKIII font.

    SySt's Build up

I may have a little problem. In order to get a better pinion angle I need to lower the back of the transmission which is easy. However I can not lower the front of the engine any further as my oil pan will not clear the steering rack unless I lower the rack. This leaves the engine at a 5+...

oh jelly beans. need some help/advise.

To simplify it, go to an autoparts store with and exhaust stud in hand. Have them get you a helicoil kit of that thread. Remember to install the helicoil with red loctite. Drill the hole as straight as possible. When I did a head job on my 7M damn near all the exhaust manifold studs pulled...

    SySt's Build up

I am not insulting the 7m or JZs. I am saying that N/A is more reliable than a turbo or supercharged engine, especially on a road course. I can not make the more/torque numbers I want on an N/A 3.0L motor. Like I have stated, my car is more for road racing than anything else. Ask most any...

    SySt's Build up

N/A really is the best configuration in my opinion. I can make over 500hp at the crank with a lighter more reliable setup than a 7M or JZ motor. Not to mention the bottom-end torque. Also, this is going to be a fun car. I'll do plenty of sliding around, auto-x, road racing and only...

    SySt's Build up

Ok, gotta clarify. That is not me in the pics, that is my girlfriend. Also, that pretty much is an LS1 going in there. Lets put it this way, it's an LS6 shortblock with suburban 5.3L heads, an LS1 f-body oil pan and an LS1 intake manifold. The exteriors of the LS1 and LS6 are identical.

    SySt's Build up

It has been a while since I last posted here but I am making another update. The pictures speak for themselves. Just need to do a little transmission tunnel trimming and fabricating of the mounts. It is going to sit back pretty far, about 2/3 of the engine will be behind the front axle. The...

LSD bolt stripped what do I do? Busted a nut(s weld)

Do not weld the rest of the bolt to the differential... Firstly you are welding to cast iron... Secondly how will you remove it in the future? The park brake cable disconnection at the equalizer is extremely easy, you really just need to look at it for yourself. That would be far easier than...

LSD bolt stripped what do I do? Busted a nut(s weld)

Also, it would not be a grade 10 bolt minimum. Likely a grade 5 or class 8.8 (same grade) would be good enough for that. However you might as well go with a grade 8 or class 10.2. SAE bolts are in grades, metric in classes.

LSD bolt stripped what do I do? Busted a nut(s weld)

I have pulled the subframe many times. Take the wheels off. Disconnect the brake calipers from the axle carrier and hang them on the damper/spring assembly. Take the bottom bolt out of the damper. Next disconnect the driveshaft from the differential. Disconnect the two park brake cables...

    Rebuild Questions

I would go with the proper thickness headgasket (which brings you closest to the factory compression ratio after decking the head/block). ARP head studs or bolts, Clevite main and rod bearngs, and then of course a gasket set and a ring set. My advice, do not even attempt to...

LSD bolt stripped what do I do? Busted a nut(s weld)

You can not just cut the bolt and helicoil it. It is a captive nut. Basically, the nut is in the subframe and has a "cage" welded around it so the nut stull has some movement, much like the targa bolts (if I remember correctly...). My advice, look for another rear subframe. Only way to fix...

    Warning Lights

Hmmm... ABS light on and cruise control not working. Sounds like a speed sensor issue to me. Make sure all three of the speed sensors (one at each front wheel and one on the extension housing of the transmission) are hooked up. There is a way to get ABS error code numbers, it says somewhere...

    Inside SupraSports shop

I have had bad experiences with SupraSport. Took them a LONG time to be me want I did not even want due to the fact they did not listen. A fellow Supra owner went up there for help installing the three-point strut par they sell. They asked him if he knew me and essentially had nothing good to...
