I have faith that one day, our cars will end up in a similar fashion as muscle cars have. Just try getting an older (70s) JDM/Japanese car. I highly highly doubt they will be anywhere remotely near as much as muscle cars have been, but nonetheless, eventually I feel enough competent people will...
Right. I believe the previous material was asbestos, hence the change. The newer material wasnt defective, however it didnt receive the proper amount of torque
I have bought clutches off of ebay, but only name brand real clutches. Exedy w/Fidanza flywheel, or OEM ones. Anything else, I feel it isnt worth potential disassembly, as people have said.
Technically the HG wasnt an inferior/defective part, it was just not torqued correctly. As was mentioned, they all lasted quite a while, so instead of being annoyed at Toyota for not doing something about their own mistake, the best way to look at it is that you should be proud of it lasting...
I currently own an 88 Targa and have owned an 89 Hardtop, both turbo, and I very much preferred the hard top. Any difference between the two cars, all else equal, the hardtop wins.
We all know what it looks like because theres so many out there :biglaugh:
I havent looked, but I wouldnt be surprised if these were the same people that were complaining that there arent any aftermarket parts for our cars.
I honestly am (still) planning on starting to make all sorts of custom parts because I think it would be fun to do, even as a job. However, I...
I'd like to one day rig up a digital speedometer while retaining the analog cluster. I am curious as to where the sensor gets its signal and whether or not any R154 can be retrofitted with one.
Wow! Believe it or not, this is the first car I've seen with 89+ tails but retained the pre89 center piece. I've long been curious what it would look like
EDIT: Ah, that would explain it then. Also explains why theres not enough room for the turbo badge on the left.
My first car that'll never be sold: 88 Turbo Targa though originally an auto. Second car was an 89 Turbo Hardtop Auto; only auto car I've owned and will be until I'm old. Here's both:
I'm not sure that even warrants a comment..
I have to say, yours looks exceptionally well done. If mine had been tucked nicely and not angled, I wouldntve hated it like I do. Alas, now that I am certain that the best exhaust is an invisible one, I cannot truly embrace how nice your exhaust looks
Regardless, I really, really like it a...
IMO a GT3071 is too small for a 7M. The GT3071 is also the smallest GT30 AFAIK.
Here are the compressor map for the 35R plotted out for a 7M. The upward slant might not be perfect, but the boost level is 18 psi.
Its borderline surging at that point; even worse on the GT3076R, and the 76...
Thats exactly why my car does not have anything but a downpipe for now. It looked gay as shit. What I'm going to do is buy a resonator and the biggest Magnaflow oval muffler they make in 3" and a pipe to turn it off and down to the side. IMO the best looking exhaust setup on the MkIII is...
