Oh. I missed that part of the thread!

    Help!!

What's the voltage on the battery? If the battery is flat dead, or shorted internally, even a jump won't work. Sounds strange, but that is the case. I've run into that problem on a friends car. Try replacing the battery and not jumping it. I'd also check the resistance at the battery...

    Radiator question

I don't think you can fix the radiator. The top is plastic. How do you plan on patching it? I guess you can slap some epoxy over it. I think its better to get an aftermarket one. The aftermarket ones perform much better than the stock one. The plastic tanks act as an insulator, where as...

    w58 + 7mgte in ma70.....whats needed....

I've got a W58 on a converted NA> 7MGTE. The block on both the 7MGE and 7MGTE is the same. It bolt right up. It works just like 1TuffSupra says.

    Overheating Nightmare !!

Try changing the water pump to a new Toyota pump. Sometimes the water pump vanes wear (even on rebuilt pumps) and causes vorticies (or how ever you spell it) which heats up the water. The faster you drive the hotter the coolant gets until the cooling system can't cool enough, then the water...

    Could it be a relay

If you have an ohm meter, check the power at the CB receptacle in the relay block to see that it has power with the ignition on. If it does, then its probably the CB. If not, then you might have a bad connection upstream or at the relay block.

    Could it be a relay

It sounds line a connector somewhere is loose or off or a common fuse. Check the wiring diagram and trace it to see where all of these systems share the same connector or junction box..... OK, I checked the TSRM wiring diagram and those systems are on the same line...

    Turbo, or Supercharger?

I didn't know there was a supercharger available for the Mk III. Hopefully its a kit. What kind of supercharger is it? Does the supercharger have an intercooler? At higher boost pressures the intercooler is going to be necessary, especially if you're running NA higher compression pistons...

    turbo swap or turbo kit???

You'll be looking at stock turbo HP. I don't know what the dyno'd power is. But the motor was rated for about 220 or may be a little more. You'll notice a big differenct though and probably want to get into the high HP mods. So why not just start there and save some money? DC34DC311...

    NA Pistons in a Turbo

I didn't want to have problems when I did my NA>T , and I wanted better pistons anyway, so I went with forged 8.3:1 compression pistons. I think it also depends on the weather conditions too. If you're in a dry hot area than you can't run too high boost. If you're in a cold wet area then you...

Gauging Interest : Complete Custom made dahboard

Just curious Roy, where do you do all of this work? Surely not in your garage......... If so, I'd really like to see your garage! But then again, maybe my personal insurance policy won't allow me to! HAHAHA Good luck. I'm really looking forward to see the finished product.

    suprra_girl's rebuild ;)

There's meters (profilometer) that will measure surface finish. He must be using one because normally finish is in multiples of 2 until you get to the rougher finishes. There's also comparison panels, but you'd be lucky to tell the difference between a 16 or 32 finish, much less 17 or 11. 17...

    turbo swap or turbo kit???

Oh yeah, I forgot about the compression. You really want the lower compression pistons. Besides, you probably want forged aluminum pistons anyway. THe NA>1/2T is where you take the turbo stuff and install it on the NA. The turbo has a different ECU, 440cc injectors as opposed to 380cc on NA...

    turbo swap or turbo kit???

I modded my NA to a stock Turbo. Now I'm spending more money with aftermarket stuff. I should have just gone with as much aftermarket stuff as I could afford at the time. But I'm glad I did the full Turbo mod and not just the NA-1/2T mod. The turbo electronics is much different for higher...

    NA>T SWAP!?

On my NA-T, I had a donor T and just took all the parts off it and put it on my rebuilt long block. I think its the easiest way to do it. Although I didn't get the R154 tranny. I still have the W58. If you have some money, try getting a new wiring harness. I didn't, and regret it now...
