got a new car - check this out *pics*

Cool car. Nissan/Infinity are good cars. The G35 has the current Nissan V6 that powers just about everything they have including the 350Z. Its a good motor. You probably can get forced induction when the warrenty runs out.

    Best brake pads for..

Siman, The ceramic pads are suppose to be almost dustless. But they have a different brake pedal feel to them. They're suppose to be high friction too. But don't quote me on it. The carbon composition pads are better than the metal pads in performance. But I've heard they are make more...

    Best brake pads for..

I've heard from a guy at work who makes cryo brake rotors and then packages them with brake pads that he likes Porterfield carbon/kevlar pads the best. He's tried other pads including the new ceramic pads and he says so far the carbon/kevlar are the best. The ceramic pads are suppose to last...

Got those brembo rotors, take a look

Why'd you get drilled instead of slotted rotors? What'd you pay for them? Are they cad Plated? They don't look it.

    o2 sensor

Don't forget MDC. He's got it for $30 USD plus shipping. I've never ordered one from MDC so I don't know about the quality. But for the amount of an oil change, I guess you can afford to replace it every other year if need be.

    metal question

In technical terms, "rust" is surface corrosion in only iron alloys. The term "corrosion" is used for all others. If you are talking to non-technical people, then maybe "rust" can be used to describe surface corrosion in non-iron alloys. But I'm sure most metalurgists don't consider rust as...

    o2 sensor

I don't believe O2 sensors last much more than a few years. They should actually get replaced quite frequently.

    metal question

Technically only metals with iron "rusts". You know, the red stuff. Aluminum alloy won't "rust". It "corrodes". Which is a similar thing to "rust" as John points out. Its all in the terms you use.

Thinkin about going to the dark side....

If you can wait. Toyota is coming out with a new Mk V Supra in a year or two. Its rumoured to have a V8 and compete with the 350Zs at the low end models and the Skylines at the high end. Toyota isn't saying much about it and only a few people have seen a prototype of it or the Lexas $100K...

Where to get a intake hard pipe

I was planning to go to the Lexas Mod AFM and plug all the holes. You get it without the guts so its hollow. But thats because I need it to look stock. You could probably just get a pipe and cut it to the right length. And go with a general install K & N.

Where to get a intake hard pipe

Suprasport just came out with a metal accordian pipe. Its a little expensive though. But it should last forever without leaking.

Crank pulley bolt..... yeah, I forgot...++URGENT++

When I changed my timing belt I got the top of the line air Engesoll Rand 1/2" impact wrench just to pull the bolt off since my no name one didn't do it. I figure I could get 720+ ft-lbs of reverse torque using my air compressor. And it still didn't do anything. So I got a breaker bar, put it...

    voltage suggestion

I've got dual FALs too and I don't have that much problems. The voltage does drop at idle, but that's because the motor isn't cranking the alternator enough. If the alternator doesn't put out enough current, like a idle, than the battery carries the rest of the load. So if your battery has to...

    Best 4" speakers

I have an '87 N/A and it had a ported enclosure that the speakers were bolted into. The speakers looked like Kevlar. They sounded OK overall. But the clearity sucked.

    Tuboing the 7mge

I think I forgot to mention that the throttle linkages (and throttle body) are also different (if I remember correctly). I'm not sure if you can use the GE throttle body with the all GTE set-up. I just swapped everything. I would guess that the upper intake manifold matches the throttle body...

    Best 4" speakers

I've got Iinfinity Kappa at : http://www.millionbuy.com/caudio-speak-inf.html with a Rockford head unit. The Infinitys sound good, but no bass as expected with such small speakers.

    valve cover hex bolts?

I actually lost one of the screws once because I never checked to see if they were loose. And I only checked the screws when I went to replace the gasket because the cover was leaking. Now I tighten the screws first before I replace the gasket.

    Tuboing the 7mge

The cam position sensor (CPS) on the GTE replaces the distrubuter on a GE. It locates the position of the cams and crank for the computer for ignition timing.

    valve cover hex bolts?

If you overtighten them you could cause the gasket to not seal properly. But what are you going to do, keep tightening them a few times a year to keep the screws on the motor or risk leakage?

    supra heads

I used a GE block and head in my GTE conversion.
