    Amp Wiring

If you are considering running the wiring with the fuel lines, that could be a real bad idea in an accident or if something came up under the car and ruptured the fuel lines. The high current wiring would also get torn and probably short out and spark. This could cause a big fire under you...

Gauging Interest : Complete Custom made dahboard

Good point Markavelli, I did notice that the Mk III has no cup holders. Other things new vehicles have the the Mk II doesn't is multiple cig. lighter outlets. Sunglasses case and garage opener holders, although thats usually overhead. Different switches, and may be some blank places or...

How do you determine injector duty

I was doing the same thing when I was buying injectors. For me I guessed using a conservative number. See this website. http://www.stealth316.com/2-calc-idc.htm

    Timing light isn't entirely regular...

I've noticed the same thing when I time my car. It looks a little odd. But I just go with the flow. I use an inductive timing light too.

tte, I don't know that there's much difference in a carbon laminate or a fiberglass laminate as far as in a crash. Both laminates are fiber matrix in resin. If its impact that is the concern, kevlar has better impact resistance than carbon. But carbon is stronger than both glass or kevlar...

    Brake Upgrades

Brake kits are expensive. I've been checking into them myself for several years. But I can't afford them. In my opinion, if you upgrade the brakes, you might as well go all the way and get both front and rear, 6/4 pot large rotor upgrades. If you get these 300Z or MkIV upgrades, then...

    HELP!!!! Harness Question

You have to match the harness with the ECU and tranny. The dealer told me that I needed to give them the ECU part number to ensure the new one matches the one installed. If you don't have an ECU or harness yet, I would match them to the car to ensure the sensors have the greatest possibility...

    Slotted Rotors..Direction

The vanes are on the inside of the rotors. The slots on the outside of the rotor are not the vanes. So you might want to check to make sure the slots are in the same direction as the vanes. I think the practice it to slot the rotor in the direction of the vane, but that doesn't mean the shop...

Gauging Interest : Complete Custom made dahboard

I agree that taking on the full cockpit dash is a huge undertaking. But I don't see what the problem with fit would be. The existing plastic from Toyota fits. Some of it is hard plastic and some of it is more flexable plastic. But it still fits. I for one would go for a new dash. Would you...

    Feeler for accordian hose hardpipe?

I'd be interested. I checked into the Suprasport Cooleeze ones and they're a little expensive. Although you get ceramic coating on those. But for 100 bucks less, I can do without the ceramic coating. What's it made out of?

    wtf i'm boiling over?

I got a bigger radiator. That didn't solve the problem. It only delayed the overheating. The problem is that the cooling system cannot cool enough for the heat that is being produced. So eventually you overheat. You really need to find the problem. It could be the thermostat, radiator...

    215 tires

215 tires will not hold to the road as good as 225 wide ones. So panic braking will be affected. But every day driving will almost feel the same. If it were me, I wouldn't ever go narrower on tires than stock.

    new supra?!!!

The things I've heard is Toyota is missing the band wagon. Nissan has been very successful with the 350Z and the G35 that Toyota wants in on the sales. Toyota will also have to compete with the introduction of the Skyline in the US. So there's not much choice. They have to come up with a...

    new supra?!!!

I just read in Motor Trend or Automotive magazine about the GT-R. As far as the Supra, Toyota keeps everything under wraps real good. My friend at Toyota they won't come out with either a Supra exotic or a Mk V Supra because Toyota's into mass market cars. Supras aren't mass market cars...

    Best brake pads for..

Well, I've got a set of Porterfield custom carbon/kevlar for my wife's Passat. When I put them on I'll let everyone know how they feel and perform. My wife's Passat goes through rear brakes every 10K mi and fronts every 20k mi. I've changed the rear pads every year and the front every 1.5...

    new supra?!!!

Actually there is a Supra Mk V and a Lexus. Not the same vehicle. The Lexas is more of an exotic. The Mk V is going head to head with Nissan 350Z at the low end and Skyline GT-R at the high end. I also hear the GT-R is going to be imported to the US in 2007. So the rice burner competition...

    TEMS to non-TEMS?

I'm going to get rid of my TEMS when I get coilovers. I think you get a low more choice in suspension set-ups without the TEMS. I don't see any benefit with TEMS. Just the lights on the dash look cool.

    Best brake pads for..

Racing brake application uses a completely different theory. I have seen test results that say the carbon pads don't stop as good as organic. But I'm wondering if they properly broke in the pads and rotors. Because the guy that made me a set of rotors and pads also did some tests on carbon...
