    dash fuse!!!

It looks like that fuse runs the light failure sensor, power window relay, defogger relay, guage lights, guages and a bunch more stuff. A lot for 7.5 amps.

    dash fuse!!!

Yup. The 7.5A guage fuse runs those things and a little more (you just don't know its out). Sorry I can't help any more than that. It could be a lot of things.

    temp controled elec fan q.

I'm with mrnickleye, But I used a power lead to the fan(s) so if my thermostat controller fails I will be able to manually run power to the fans. Use good gauge wire and a switch rated for a minimum amount of current your fans are rated for. I also use the manual switch to turn on the fans...

    Upgrade Help Needed!!!

Squid said it. I would like to add that I didn't change the oil pump, and I regret it. They pump was supposed to be tested, but the pressure was much lower on the JDM motor I got than the NA I removed. Also, the fan on the turbo has more blades than the NA. So I went with an electric FAL...

    timing belt

I hear OEM is not quite the same as what was factory installed. But for a timing belt, I'd stick with OEM or a good aftermarket one. I would hate for the thing to fail on the road.

    Injector Cleaning

I believe RC does cleaning and rebuilds. http://www.rceng.com/service.htm#INJECTOR I've heard a lot of good things from their cleaning. I even read a hot rod mag article, or a like mag, that sent their injectors to RC when they thought they were clean. When the got them back and raced them...

    Upgrade Help Needed!!!

Yup... the tach on the NA and turbo are different. I got the tach from a turbo car and put it in the NA gage cluster. (So I don't have the stock boost gage.) I also have the W58, as Squid mentioned above. Oh, the intake, throttle body and throttle cables are different so you'll need those...

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

The discs were zinc coated. Probably to keep them shinny looking. That may be your problem. But I would not think so. Electroplating is usually very even over a surface. You might get some thinning, but it would be gradual. I don't know about zinc, but cadmium plating is only a few...

New wheels and stuff on the 1j Supra

The wheels look good. The Tien's will really make the car look lean and mean. But if it were me, I'd get wheels a lot easier to clean. Because with a hot wife like that, she can only be seen in a hot ride. And there's nothing worse to ruin a hot ride than dirt. What wheels are they...

    changing the fuel pump, but...

If you're replacing the fuel pump. You might want to replace the fuel filter also. Although I don't think its easier with the tank out. Also, I'd replace it a tank full after you have the new pump in. That ways if there is any contaminates when you do the change, you won't clog up the...

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

Calipers hare self centering on the disc. So if the rotor is warped, the caliper will just float and not cause vibration. But if you have a thickness variation, you get more pad pressure in the thicker region, the friction changes, so you get a local area on the disc where you get more...

    bad squeeking!...lol....

I think mine squeeks a little when I come up or out the driveway. But it doesn't really bother me. I don't get any noise on the road though. Was your bushings a little too big to fit in the mounting bracket? If I remember, I had a hard time with installing the mounting brackets. Not only...

Pic of my project for now.

VanSupra, you're running a standalone? I don't see an airflow meter. If your engine bay is dirty, then mine must be the city dump........

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

IJ, she really got them hot. I think normally, you just get uneven deposit of brake material on the rotor face. And as time goes on, the material builds up more in the high spots than the other areas, thus you get chatter when you brake. This is in the SM information section, CKanderson...

    Head Work

I wouldn't do the shims myself, unless you have a bunch of different shims on hand or you have a lot of time to measure, buy, measure, buy, measure, buy........ . That's why I had my shop that rebuilt my head also shim the valves. Hopefully they do a good job. I've seen Stainless Steel...

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

So let me get this right, You just changed brake pads and disc, and you didn't bed in the pads and disc? So you probably drove a little and the vibration started to happen. And as you drive (and brake) more, its probably getting worse............... Now you changed the rotors. You didn't...

    Help!!

OK Here's my best shot. Get an ohm meter. Pull 30A fuse RTR from junction block #2 http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/be/BE_009.html http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/be/BE_014.html I believe it should have about 12V all the time (Ref. power line D in the TSRM schematic)...

    Overheating Nightmare !!

Supranut, You don't know if the water pump is the cause of the heating problems unless you change it. The impellers might just be a little worn causing the problems. The pump will still pump water. If you've ruled out the HG, changed the radiator cap, pressure tested the system, and...

STB on top of idle adjustment screw

If you do road racing or just driving hard on the road, they'll greatly improve the handling. I don't know if you can really feel the difference, but a friend of mine has done some road track racing and he says it improves the track time. But so did stiffening the shocks. I don't think they...
