    Mounting Walbro FP Externally?

The problem with external fuel pump is that you really need to mount it below the top of the fuel tank. Fuel pumps are good at pressure but poor in suction. Thats why they are mounted inside the fuel tank. External pumps must be mounted very low, and might have problems priming. So sometimes...

What and Why don't I have it

I don't have one either on my '87 NA. Since I bought mine brand spanking new and I know 100% what I have and don't have, I would guess that its the autobrake mani. Can someone confirm this?

    Overheating Nightmare !!

Did you replace the water pump with a Toyota one. Water pump veins can wear out and cause cavitation. If the faster the engine runs the hotter it gets than this could be your problem.

Did the dyno today, I gotta say IM happy!!!

The new Z06 is rated at 505 hp and I believe is under 3200 lbs. It has a carbon fiber body with an aluminum lightened chasis. It has titaniun rods and valves (intake). There are performance tweaks every where. Its nothing like the standard corvette. It just looks similar to one. Its a...

    Tire Question

I'd try to get as wide of a tire that will fit on the rims and in the wheel wells as possible. Tire performance is most greatly affected by tire contact patch area (width). You could save some money and get lower performance longer lasting harder compound tires but wider. I'd stick with at...

    Greddy Gauges

I use a separate relay to control all of my interior stuff so its not on all the time. I've had too many dead batteries in my past. I forget what switching source I used, but its right at the ECU above the glove compartment. And the power source I run directly from the battery through the...

    airesearch turbos

Garrett at one time was AiResearch. Cliff Garret openned AiResearch Aviation back in the late 40's at what is now LAX. AiResearch Aviation was renamed to Garrett General Aviation Services Company in 1985. So the company name Garret or AiResearch is the same company. They are very big in...

    Group buys

I always check the HPF section and other vendors too. Jeff has his own HPF section so he doesn't need to do a group buy. He just posts what ever he and HPF is putting together and runs with it. He's his own moderator, so he controls it. No need for a GB. Personally I like the idea that...

    How Many Daily Drivers?

I used to drive it every day until I Fu.... the motor up. I had 3 vehicles at the time between me and the wife. Now I have 4, so I'm in no hurry to get it going. If I did, I wouldn't drive my daily driver, a '89 4-Runner. The other vehicle that might compete with my Supra is my wife's '02 VW...

DO you guys worry what around the corner next?

I paid around $21K (fleet price) out the door for an '87 7MGE Supra back in Nov 1896. The 7MGTE would have run me over $24K (no discounts). At that time it was too much money. But now looking back, I probably should have forked over the extra cash. I've got the original window sticker, the...

DO you guys worry what around the corner next?

I've been stranded on the road several times due to overheating and once due to an ignition problem. The overheating started after about 5 years from when I bought the car new making a trip to LV and lasted until I overheated and locked the motor locked up (about 6 years ago). That's about 7...

    Cryoed rotors, opinions??

A guy at work does cryo on a side business. He cryos all sorts of things. He says a cryo'd rotor will not wear as fast and has higher friction than a non-cryo'd rotor. He can cryo your rotors (or anything else) if you send them to him or he can make rotors, cryo them and send them to you. He...

    Electronic or Mechanical Gauges?

I believe all manufacutures specify fuel gages must be electrical to be inside the cabin. Mechanical fuel gages must be outside the cabin area. Oil gages can be inside the cabin. I had one a many years ago and it could become a mess if the tube starts leaking at the gage, or if it gets...

    Problem HELP!!

You could have bad wires. You could have water in the distrubuter cap, or a cracked distrubuter cap. You could need a new rotor in the distrubuter, although you did just do a tune up. Someone could have dropped the plugs and damaged them.

    Starter solinoid Problem??

First, I wouldn't buy anything from autozone. Second, it could be a lot of things. Have you checked to see if the solonoid gets power from the relay? If its an auto tranny, it could be the neutral start switch. If its a M/T, it could be the clutch switch. It could be the relay. Heck, it...

    87 7MGE Won't Start

Checking to see if you've got a code is the first place you should check. It could save you a lot of time trouble shooting and send you to the right place to look. Keep us updated. I'd be careful about buying an igniter on e-bay. You don't know how many miles may be left before it goes bad...

    87 7MGE Won't Start

Sounds like an ignition problem. Igniters will kill the ignition. And when igniters go, its usually intermittent but not all the time. I've had one (acutally my girlfriend, now wife) go on an old 7M Creseda intermittently. A friend of mine at work had his go out on his pickup. He trouble...

    Street Brake Pads

Thanks Supraman. A guy at work who makes brake kits tests different products on his daily MINIVAN ride. He doesn't like the ceramics. But the ceramics are suppose to last forever with little dust.
