I used to think that 550's were good for 500rwhp myself. I thought guys were crazy for running 720cc's for that power level until I studied this. http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx
I was still not convinced that I needed that big of injectors until I started street tuning with my map ecu...
Here's an update:
You guys remember when my idle was hunting around and dying out at times? Last time I replaced my cps oring because it was leaking. I line up the hole with the notch on the cps and put it back in with the crank pulley showing 0 piston #1 at TDC on the compression stroke. I...
All engines have a small percentage of leakage past the rings. That's normal. Big horsepower turbo engines have to run larger ring gaps than what factory specs call for. If not their rings can bind under heavy load and break ringlands.

Nope. Really don't have the time to mess with it. I did a cylinder leakage test on it not long ago, and again confirmed that #1 cylinder is not doing good. The air pressure was blowing by the rings. Air was coming out of the crankcase ventilation ports. I couldn't hear any come out of the...
As far as leakdown test goes cylinders 2-6 look good. #1 raises concern being close to the 10-15% leakage problem area. TSRM states compression numbers for a healthy motor would be 158psi and up. 128psi being the lowest, and anything under is a problem. I know 9% leakage isn't good...
You obviously have money to do this swap/build. Don't go the twin ct26 route. Why not build one hell of a 408 stroker with aftermarket heads, cam, and intake? You could easily have a 600+ hp n/a powerplant. Add a 150 shot of nitrous and you're close to 800hp powerplant. Why bother with all...
Would loosening the motor mounts, removing the trans crossmember, and jacking up the tailshaft until it hits the tunnel help a little? I'm not sure how much that would tilt the engine forward, but it probably can give you a little more room.
