I dont think its really that bad. Summit sells kits:

I personally think its a bit much, especially for Summit, but it sure looks straightforward. Box, tiedown, drill a hole for the vent, then...
Even Autometer? You know its the most popular aftermarket gauge used for decades? :biglaugh: They're definitely not some cheap throwaway, even if most of the models are basic looking. IMO all you're paying for with the more expensive GReddy, Defi, etc. gauges is the look.
IMO anti-seize is overkill for them. If they are at the proper 76 ft lbs, you wont need it. 100 ft lbs isnt excessive, but the 250+ from a gun, especially after a few decades of (most likely) plenty of that.
Uhhh..not too big of a deal lol. Just get an Optima sealed battery, a box, a big long thick ass cable, and a safety switch. Simply putting all that crap in the trunk on your way home from buying it installs it!
I'm personally not a big fan of using gas to spray the intercooler. It sounds dumb, maybe risky, and definitely expensive. Spraying nitrous on the intercooler is dumb and a waste. CO2 can do the same job, probably for less, and is more commonly found.
Either way, water probably does almost as...
I plan on doing a battery relocation anyways. Taking a big heavy part all the way in the front of the (slightly nose heavy) car and moving it all the way to the back sounds like a good idea to me.
Plus, its fun to act dumb if you ever need a jump from someone. I do it with the Miata (factory...
The plan is to buy a wrecked N/A and graft a MA71 front end on it, 7M and all. 2Js get put in MkIIIs all the time (for perfectly good reasons)...why not vice versa?
Actually, the prices compared to other cars are rather reasonable. European cars for instance are expensive as hell to mod. I'm rather happy with how not-bloated the prices are.
I found it in the press release or whatever, a while before the car was even released.
Original pic:
To be honest, I thought it was painfully obvious that the vent was chopped in lol
Seriously? :biglaugh:
Good eye on the E92 vent, but you're going to need a better eye to differentiate between an M3 and a 135i with just a few color changes :biglaugh:
Other than that, all I did was change the wheels and copy/paste the exhaust to the other side.
I know my post 80s BMWs lol...
Nah, we still rip on each other a lot, but it tends to be because we've all been into these cars for a while.
Also, as long as cars come with two similar engines, fan boys for that car will pick sides :icon_razz
Ultimately, we're all on the same boat..and if you have one of these cars this...
Its great to see so many people so serious about their cars.
I bought mine March 12th, 2005, and like everyone else, I'll never sell it. Doesnt matter what happens to it, I'm not going to part with it.
Bought it as my first car at 15.
I would certainly hope so with how often it FAILED in their races! :biglaugh:
Really sucks. The few things it was entered in were mostly DNF'd...the ones it did finish were often in second or top 5.
Yeah the original picture is a real picture of the actual factory car...you know that right? :icon_razz
Everything I have done to the car has been lasso'd and a combination of hue change and color balance. I'm surprised you think the badge looks over saturated, but not the stripes :biglaugh...
Yeah, its done in weird setups like MR-2s where they dont have much air flow at all. With an FR car like ours with plenty of room for a big ol front mount, I dont think it'll do much; unless you are in stop and go traffic, in which case you wont need it anyways.
