I thought maybe it just mounted to the lower AC mount. After seeing these pics though it looks like there's an extra bracket.

Well the 1JZ cross reference says the 2JZ-GE one will work, and that's the same as the 2JZ-GTE auto, so I don't see any reason it wouldn't bolt up to the block. How is the bottom of the shock mounted?

First and foremost, make sure there's no slack in your linkages.

It's the actual body. Mine interfered by about 1/8". I've heard of some that were bad enough that they couldn't be used.

Pics fixed. I guess VBulletin doesn't like my gallery so I put the pics in a folder on my site instead of just using the gallery images. I pulled the motor to replace some seals, clean it up, and paint it.
