    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Update to parts coming in: 3.5" exhaust system is coming together, however I think it may be a touch louder than I had initially planned for- we'll see... New 3.5" driveshaft is here and looks BOMB! Dual valve springs are ready to install once I get the head back :D Head is 1/2 done, and...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Nah, its not necessary just because of the turbo or power output, its the way you drive the car. If you baby it off the line and shift smoothly, I bet the stocker would stand up to almost anything. Launch it hard/drop the clutch and I'd put money on a stock NA with BHG would be able to twist it :P

Dan I have no doubt your car is going to tear it up this year, so you're on!

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Yep, now whatcha goona do about it? It was a blast doing and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Kinda wish I had more/better videos of the racing that was had, though. This is what I've found so far, nothing else aside a momentary glimpse or two :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOxvH-aEBHQ...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

It's all in how you drive/launch the car. In my case it was overly aggressive on all counts! : D

What's your experience with the Ebay 3" DDPs?

Yep, just test fit with it installed to find out where you want it and at what angle it fits, mark the pipe and have a good welder drill the hole and weld it in. Ideally you'd have the car there so you can test fit it and be 100% sure it fits with no issues. In my experience with my LIPP BOSS...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Yes I did... and nope, it died. Put about 15-20* of twist in the rubber bonded section. I've ugraded twice, now as well! Went with a 3" jawsgear AL shaft and it was good for a couple weeks, but then the car broke. Now Im onto a 3.5" Dahn Automotive shaft since I'm going for a 4.3 rear end...

What's your experience with the Ebay 3" DDPs?

The wideband should not be in the elbow, it should be about 2 feet behind the it. Reason being, if the sensor is too close to the turbo outlet it could overheat and signal incorrectly. You want it sonewhere around here to be really safe (look next to the flex section): I capped and never used...

What's your experience with the Ebay 3" DDPs?

Sounds like you used a Megan racing downpipe(the one that has a seperate elbow- stock or aftermarket). I just had to fix a local kid's Supra with the same issue. Angle is wrong and its about 2 3/4" short :( The ebay downpipes with the integrated elbows have been great, for the ones I've seen :)

    7mgte head vs 7mge head?

If you're going turbo, use the GTE intake cam. If you're going N/A use the GE cam. Unless you're going for big power, in which case upgrade cams may be worth your while.

    Fuel dampner by-pass hose

Most fuel line kits use -6 AN fittings, I would guess that's the size you're looking for.

    Brake Upgrade ??

ARZ's willwood setup is very nice, I have it on my car and will say they're very much worth the investment, IMO. Same for the cobra Mustang brake retrofit. The cobra brakes are going to be cheaper, but I can't comment on them (haven't driven a mk3 with them)

    BIC Thunder Exhaust

Holy zombie thread! Until you're making 500hp, any exhaust bigger than 3" is usually overkill- you are still efficient with 3" exhaust around 400hp. Just pick the sound you want- Tanabe hyper medallion for quiet, Apexi N1 for loud, and everything in between!

    Project 2.5GT!

Ah, late reply- my bad. I have been running E-85 in my car for about 1.5-2 years now. At first I had a single 1020 pump and stock everything else (new filter), but now I'm on 2 Aeromotive stealth 340 pumps, 2 stock fuel filters, 2 stock fuel lines, and then some -6 line connecting to the fuel...

What's your experience with the Ebay 3" DDPs?

If you see this gasket, throw it away, even brand new. You want this one: I always put the copper spray on all my exhaust gaskets, new and used. Like I said- its extra insurance, nothing beats a quality gasket.

What's your experience with the Ebay 3" DDPs?

This is it: http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80697-Copper-Gasket-Sealant/dp/B000HBNUDQ You spray it onto the sealing surfaces of your exhaust gaskets and let it get tacky, install and enjoy leak-free sealing! (it does have limits, but like I said I was able to re-use my gaskets several times...

What's your experience with the Ebay 3" DDPs?

I have had good luck with them, but I would suggest buying the bellmouth from Driftmotion http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-3inchdownpipewithelbow7m-gte.php its cheaper than Ebay ones and fits better than my DDP did. main thing I uggest is getting the OEM toyota gaskets fot them and spraying...
