for the record...TRD doesnt make ANYTHING...they havent come up with anything of their own for about 10ish years now...they are a VERY small part of toyota now and all they really do is take other companies parts, and buy the rights to put the TRD logo on them and sell them.
i hate to be a dick...but dont make two of the exact same threads in two different forums...most members browse all the sections on here...so if they are gonna reply they will do so.
please dont do it again.
your friendly neighborhood nazi moderator ;)
pot....kettle...black ;)
seriously...spend 40 bucks for an ignitor...shiping CANT be more then 50 bucks anywhere in the world for that small piece...so you drop $100 bucks and its a bolt in job...
WHY MAKE IT SO DAMN COMPLICATED!!!!
well...in that case lol...i MIGHT have a full conversion kit...i have to talk to me friend to see if i can let go some of the parts he wanted...im pretty sure he will say ok...
if he says ok...i have a FULL kit...EXCEPT you would need to get a new MASTER cylinder as the one i have is...
rak...im assuming for conversion you mean from the w58 you have in the car already to the r154?
if thats so...then you would simply need to buy your choice of clutch and pressure plate setup, and a new slave cylinder (like $35 i think from any auto parts store), and then the tranny...
so ala deletion of thread...............ready.............go........why is it not gone yet..........still waiting.......urgh...im going to get the ban stick...be right back :biggrinbo
lmao....the two mods going at it to open or close...and NEITHER of them moved this to general section...
hahaha someone give me the god damn abilities of super mod! :D
couple of ways IIRC...
1) you can put it on the back of the valve covers by reversing the plugs meaning put the #1 plug in the #6 hole, #2 plug in the #5 hole etc etc....
2) you can get custom wires from MSD i believe it is...to whatever length you want and put the coilpack anywhere...
yo rak! i have a perfectly good r154 here for sale!!! you should have told me you wanted it lol...
just an FYI...with the tranny swap youll need to buy a different slave cylinder...i THINK thats the only difference with the w58s and the r154s...other then the clutch/pressure plates...
good luck fitting any of these on the "stock piping" you will need to get a hardpipe made up for them....
as for sound...who cares... :dunno:
the hks does the job the best IMO and doesnt leak up to 30psi i believe it is... ive heard of the other two leaking ....
hehe yeah i tried the reverse setup for 6 cylinder, the 4 cylinder setup and the 8 cylinder setup...
i honestly think these just might now work for some reason with our cars...
on that note...
garrett.....you said that was a hefty price for a rpm activated switch... you have a site or...
UGH...the IGT wire didnt work either... i also tried the wire that i have my AFC2 hooked up to for RPM (which the afc2 reads PERFECTLY) and it didnt work either...i dont get it :dunno:
sorry lol im sued to acronyms...
COP= coil on plug meaning each spark plug fires on its own per its own coil
WSD= waste spark distribution meaning there are sets of coils and two plugs fire at once..once is used for combustion the other one is "wasted"
as for drop in replacements...no...
hmmm well ill try that one...wouldnt that be the same signal from the back the of the tach and whatnot? either way i guess ill try it ;)
and as for price... it was buy one get one free... so 50 bucks for 2... so 25 bucks each...and its exactly what i wanted cause im trying something special...
i dont have either my EGR or my FPU VSV.... havent for awhile...just make sure you route your vacuum lines correctly and there shouldnt be a problem...
HOWEVER...i have heard in some cases that taking out the FPU will make the car hard to start sometimes...so if i were you i would take it...
hey guys thanks for the help...
heres a link to the switch.. its an RPM ACTIVATED SWITCH...
http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/sftlight.htm
scroll down a bit and youll see it...
it has a switch on the inside that you configure to tell it how many cylinders... i set it to 6...
