Is it possible the rear trans slip yoke bushing is worn? You mentioned being able to move the drive shaft up and down in the tail housing. I have always wondered, wouldn't a one piece drive shaft accelerate wear on this extension housing bushing from the added weight of the drive shaft/having...
I understand what you are saying, and im not determined to use Mobil 1. I have a friend that insists Mobil 1's detergent package is very good, and i can agree with that. Out of other oils used Mobil 1 seems to keep engines very clean. He is more concerned with keeping sludge out of his motor...
Im now wondering about a whole other arena. The 1mz engine is fairly commonly known for having sludge issues. I have a friend that is going to be using a brand new rebuilt 1mz engine in his mr2 and from many pictures i have seen, mobil 1 oil tends to keep engines sparkling clean. Do you have any...
im pretty sure the whole exhaust is sticking back too far, sounds like the cat is too long, i cant really afford any more right now so il just put the custom exhaust back on and save this job for a later day...
Thanks for the help
the back muffler is cut off so i dont know, so toyota put different sized cats on different cars and compensated for it by making the whole rear part of the exhaust longer/shorter?
I was tired of my aftermarket exhaust so i finally got myself to go out and buy me a stock one. I searched forever and finally found one from way far away, and had to fork over 130 dollars for it. Its in pretty good shape so i went with it (and i couldn't find anyone else selling one)...
Thank you for the very direct answers, this helps me a lot! One other question though, why aren't all manufacturers now calling for 0w oils in all their cars? I have noticed a lot of them are, and most have gone as low as a 5w, but why would they recommend 5w oils when 0w is so much better?
just got a 5qt+mobil1 filter deal for 35 bucks=6qt+ mobil 1 filter for 40 bucks. Basically, free filter. I didnt have any coupon or anything the guy just said they have that deal and i took it.
Theres a bunch in my VatoZone here, it says European formula on the front and Made in Germany on the back, looks like the right stuff. Says M08 on the bottom, but its 6.79 a quart or something like that, almost 7 bucks, is that too much or is that the average?
Edit: Nevermind i see now that...
Well, recently i have been trying to do all the reading i can on different oils, how they work and how they are rated, so excuse me for the number of questions i have been asking recently. There are a few things i still fail to understand about how viscosity is rated. I understand the whole cst...
I have read this numerous times, but what i don't understand is what exactly about it makes it a less superior oil compared to a "true synthetic"? Does it not have the same additives because it isn't a "true synthetic", does it not lubricate as well? I constantly hear Mobil 1 being called out...
