    scratch in cylinder wall

Well even if you hone it out and its gone, look how much extra clearance your piston has... You cant use it with a scratch going down far enough that the rings will touch them, so your options are limited.

    Toyota Red Coolant = ?

My NA with green had some bad pitting in the aluminum head around the coolant passages, i thought the head was junk but i was able to use it and it sealed. Switched to red though i don't trust my expensive engine parts on a cheap coolant. You really dont need to buy it that often anyways, so...

    scratch in cylinder wall

If you gouged it enough that boreing it out to the next size is too big, youre better off finding another block

    OEM bottom end bearings

I have edited my previous post with the pictures in BIG RED letters. Can someone please verify this is all correct? Also, does this mean if i get a replacement crank, using the numbers i can still get the correct bearings needed without any machine work?

    OEM bottom end bearings

Ok i was wondering if you guys could help me directly with this. I have an 89 block that has a 6m crank in it, as far as i know its original, i was told it might be a crank from right in the weird transitioning period. On the block i have this on one side 111 2222 On the other side...

    Rebuild or Replace?

To do all the work you listed, you would have to pull the head so you could get the pistons out, and of course by then it goes into, why not just do a fill rebuild on the shortblock which will cost you in excess of 1500 dollars probably

    Water vapor from valve covers

Right after shutdown if i remove my oil cap there is a pretty good amount of steam/smoke (not sure which) that comes out. I assume its just steam from condensation. I have no head gasket problems and it has always done this.

    Rebuild or Replace?

He means when the bearings gave out it allowed the piston to move up farther in the bore than it should thus smacking against the head.

    Cam cover leaking air.

Clean everything off and just use your silicone in the *SHARP* corners right around the front cam caps (theres 4 spots). All you need is a dab. This is NOT talking about the corners at the back of the head etc, its talking about the sharp 90 degree turns on the gasket right on either side of the...

    Car overheated..whats this part?

IIRC some radiators have brass end tanks and that would lead me to believe brass is fine in the cooling system. I may be wrong though.

    Cam cover leaking air.

No, you need to use a new valve cover gasket. You can use the "right stuff" in the corners where the TSRM calls for RTV though.

    Car overheated..whats this part?

Just go to home depot and get a brass coupler the right diameter. The heater valve is a 90 degree elbo, so you might want to get a 90 degree fitting to avoid twisting the hoses weirdly. I am a local Arizonian as well. I dont know if you have seen: http://azsupracentral.com/forums/index.php...

    OEM bottom end bearings

Well, I don't completely understand it, and I don't feel like that means I'm not qualified to touch the engine...that is kind of lame. I understand the numbering system, but I have not found any solid answers on where to find the numbers. I do not have to worry about this, because my engine is...

    OEM bottom end bearings

I understand that much, but why do they even sell std size bearings if they are so much work to get to fit? (Not to mention how hard it is to figure out the toyota numbering/where to find it! Supposedly different years have different marks in different places? Is the aftermarket "std" size...
