I have used those hand held steamer things they don't do a whole lot, you will feel lame sitting there using it. All it does is shoot steam and it doesn't have the high pressure water you need to blast grime away. Might be good for little things but trust me you will feel like a fool sitting...
A pressure washer would do a much better job IMO, especially a heated "steam" pressure washer. Honestly, just use some degreaser, go to your local self serve car wash and pressure wash your engine down, comes out sparkling clean every time.
What is the safest max oil clearance to run on the main bearings without having to worry about excessive wear or oil pressure drop? I clearanced my mains to find the crank is a bit smaller than spec, and it puts my oil clearance to about .002" with a #5 bearing. Is this too large? Should i have...
What should i recommend to my machinist when doing the hone for the Total Seal rings that come with the Probe pistons? Is there a specific RA that it calls for?

first just drain the whole thing, the radiator and the engine block, make sure the heater is on high, and remove the thermostat. Then close up the block drain but leave the radiator drain partially open, then run the hose into the radiator opening until it fills up and start the car. Just keep...

Cajun can you please get more info on these and pictures? Im doing a build right now and want to go with stock internals, but i also dont want to pay $400+ Just for stock pistons/rings when thats costs just the same as forged almost. I dont want to use NPR's if they are cheap and shitty either...
