good to hear you fixed your delema. and i bet they had some sort of flashlight. unless they grabbed a toolbox that was easy to get... but anyway.... are you done with your BHG?
UPDATE- i found ONE leak that was a problem. i lost about a cup of oil a day because the driver's side...
i'm not exactly fond of additives. i have seen pictoral tests of these additives and it severely tampers with the anti-foaming ratio in the oil. once you add additive, the oil is "diluted" into a mix that containes an incorrect ratio of standard anti-foaming additives and it gets filled with...
oh ok. thanks, sorry about my misunderstanding...i do that. thats what i hate about the internet
sorry u made the mistake. and incase u missed it, my muffler is bolt-on... maybe thats a non-standard way of attaching exaust or it's just an easeir less-perfect way... but yeah. if it WAS a...
well i still will have the knocking sound...the other oil might solve that...maybe
i also thought of a thicker oil...but if it was rod knock it might just hide it. i guess that would be GOOD though because it must mean it's wearing less or cushoning the impacts to some degree.
i have a Bosch...
well here's the kind of post that makes me wonder! everybody buys new mufflers but i wonder if maybe its just that nobody thinks to try removing the restrictions. but then again everybody ahs different tastes and i've heard it sounds like crap w/out a resonator.
isn't it LOUD though quapouh...
i dont really have words to express how much better that makes me feel. i will still worry but i can eaisly read this post again. if it gets bad again i might even print it and tape it to my dashboard so i don't cry.
what u said is really true... and you are correct on everything u said...
hi everybody...reviving this old thread. i had this issue a few months ago before the BHG fix...now its still there and i'm still worried.
I have searched the site for rod knock and came up with some things but i'll describe what i'm feeling and hearing here...
SOMETIMES, not every time...
allright. thanks a lot that will help. my muffler is actually not welded on...it has a U-clamp thing holding it. looks good enough and i should in theroy be able to remove it but its crimped itself and doesnt want to slide off... if it would have worked for a straight pipe i would have had a...
i'm watching this because i hear funny noises and if something happens i dont know what i'll do....this might be one option if it goes for the worst. good luck...i think i need might need it!
hmm... they all sound kinda spendy. (just got through with bhg so my wallet hurts)
i might price around and see exactly what they cost though...i havent ever really done that for just a muffler.
so i'm guessing the straight pipe idea is a bad one. lol
thanks.
that makes sence on the turbo. and you're taking into account that the resonator is still included right? i'm not going FULL straight ever... just making sure.
I have a 86.5 n/a... but i thought this might work better in general because i figured a turbo 7m probably doesnt sound much different from a N/A one. (EDIT) turns out i was wrong. so this only applies to N/A engines...sry
basically i was wondering what i can do with the stock exaust to get a...
i want to see what happens when you hit the brakes on a dyno! i also want to see someone break the straps on video...but i'm lazy and dont want to search...lol.
my guess is the rollers are pretty heavy and they keep going while your rear tires do all kinds of crazy things...
john - here's a pic of the egr cooler...i believe mine was flush with the head surface as well. if both our cars run fine i wouldnt think twice about it! the water gacket thing sounds scary though! but if she runs fine i'd just use red coolant to make sure you dont get more erosion. :D
you...
oooooo didnt know he had that too. thanks. i have to remember to check that site first from now on. lol...is there anything not mentioned on that site?
oh. i guess i should go figure out what i need to read it then.
i have this little screwdriver-like probe with a light in the handle and a cable attached to the other end... can i use it? from what i remember in the TSRM you need some sort of light. and then a code book to find out what code...
