Depends if damage has been done or not. Bearings, or worst case gearset damage would make it expensive.
Replacing the crush sleeve with a fixed spacers with shims is the best way to remedy the issue (and has been done for years on trucks where loads are high).
I have one of the original chinese knockoffs and the pipe isn't thin, but I did have to dent it so it didn't rest on the transmission mount crossmember. Also, the flex section is in a pretty bad spot, if I was still driving the car I'd have made a skid plate for it.
Also, the gaskets are crap.
I'ts not the LSD...
Toyota (as well as most other OEM's) use a crush sleeve to se the preload on the pinion bearings. Crush sleeves suck, and wear out losing preload on the bearing and allowing the pinion to move around. The only thing at that point keeping the pinion nut on is the staked...
Counter monkeys usually don't know WTF their looking at.
Sadly, this is how it usually works, if you have the part number you're golden as you take away them having to think...
Yes, but turbos work off load, higher gearing like that reduces engine load and you get less boost. Oh, and if it's not a sport package with the LSD then it's not so good ;)
Bolded is correct, that's how they work. Didn't think they work with the claw washer, hence the use of thread locker. I also think you need to adjust the steering stops as well on the spindles.
