Help me choose a throttle body

Didn't have time when I posted this to explain....I was just meaning that each deviation from straight constant diameter pipe will represent a backpressure on the system. (Bends, size transitions, things impeding flow like a throttle butterfly, etc.) A throttle body at the diameter of the...

Help me choose a throttle body

as i have told countless people in the past, this is just plain incorrect. Grab a fluid mechanics book and have a read, you shall find out why.

    OverDrive off

all i've ever used it for on other vehicles is when passing on the highway - to downshift to get into the powerband before giving it gas (and avoiding a hard downshift)

body work gurus i NEED YOUR HELP

here is what I did... before: after: keep in mind that I had the quarter panels completely removed, as well, i bought new fender wells. At any rate, find out how much rust there actually is before getting anything done about it. Mine was quite a bit more rusted than yours looks like...

someone explain the use of hub rings please.

I disagree with you completely on the necessity for hubcentric wheels. By removing the support provided by the hub, you are introducing a whole pile of new forces to the equation, including shear on the wheelstuds, and bending forces on the stud mounts and outer ring of the hub itself. Wheel...

Look what came this weekend! 56k death!

sorry to sort of harsh your buzz, but I got a brand new front bumper skin from champion toyota for about $210.00 (shipping for $1k worth of parts was $100 to canada) Seems like it is more or less a wash compared with what you paid for yours...they are in fine shape though brand new, aren't...

For everyone that works on you own Supra!

hyflex (foam/rubber/other varieties) rule for working on the car - best part is that you can wash and re-use them and they take forever to wear out.

if by sitting you mean not moving under its own power, then over 1 year. It hasn't been driven regularily for about 2.5 years. This will change very soon though.

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

I just read through the entire thread and I am quite dissatisfied with the scientific evidence backing up bi-tron. Like it has been said repeatedly, if this product is so outstanding, what is stopping bi-tron from performing (and the most important: making results publicly available) SAE, API...

    welding rear sub frame???

I would suggest cleaning properly....If you weld overtop of grease and oil, you are introducing a huge amount of carbon into the steel, contributing to brittleness. Go over it with a wire knot wheel before and between weld passes. Also, let the steel cool by itself, no water or anything else...

Would anyone be interested in a TRD shift knob group buy?

they are basically self-tapping so they fit perfectly fine. There is some sort of tapered plastic insert inside that you screw on until tight.

I have one too...Unfortunately mine cost me $110CAD and I had to wait 8 months to get it from japan (Toyota blamed 9/11....). Sweet knob though.
