That is a question that leaves many of us scratching our heads.....
in all seriousness, theres a huge labor shortage so the potholes stay. We had a winter that apparently (I was in Australia...) fluctuated around 0, so our pot holes are now much worse than they have ever been. Thanks global...
look at the brake disc - there are two threaded holes to screw bolts into to force the disc off the hub....I can't remember the thread size, (M8x1.25 comes to mind) but the bolts that fit are used everywhere on the car.
Creep resistance? that is a non-issue. I highly doubt a thrust washer would experience sustained temps of 500C+, and forces acting on the thrust washer are generally compressive and shear in nature.
There are two different battles going on in the drive for an improved thrust washer -...
how is the fuel level of your tank? Once, mine was low and the pump SCREAMED (the car ran like shit too...perhaps it was sucking some air). Filled it up and no more issues.
well, for the TB i am going with a Q45 unit - the output of which is adjustable to match the stock toyota one. I do have the 2j TB if all else fails - i had a look through both TSRMs and it seems as though the outputs are similar, that is a last resort though. As for the sensors...aside from...
I'm considering throwing together a CAD file of the adapter - Because this one was a one-off i didn't bother, but if there is enough interest, i'll attempt to work some numbers out and see if i can get some made.
Not even close to test fit. I still need to make an alternator adapter and throttle body adapter (and drop the engine into my car) before I test fit. I measured dimensions before making the plate, though, and there is plenty of room.
madsupra, yes this is for a 2j. It will take a pretty nice...
It is finally near completion. I was sick of seeing poorly welded mk4 and mk3 lower runners welded together in a mess of poor flow, so the next easiest thing was to make an adapter between a mk4 upper and mk3 lower. I started with a 3/4" thick piece of 6061-T6 Al (in retrospect, a softer...
