Everybody complains about the turbo fitment problem that requires a spacer. It is not a design flaw. HKS designed that manifold to be used with an " on center" exhaust housing. If you use a tangental housing you will run into the problem of the compressor housing, If you use the proper housing...
still need to clean up some wires and lines in the engine bay as well as install the s&w roll bar but I took it for a little spin again tonigh and man its fun. I cant wait to turn up the boost.
Ron, I know this is a little off topic but we just installed your old GT76 on my friends supra and man that thing pulls like a mad man on 32 psi :evil2:
While the JDM 2J doesnt have an egr it does have the provisions for it on the intake. The only difference between intakes is that the JDM doesnt have a provision for the brake booster on the top. It has all the same egr crap inside its just pluged on the end with a pressed in brass plug.
Yeah, Im leaning towards the TRD scheme myself and my friend wants me to do it too so it will match his car. Im probably going to run the summit fittings on the celica too. There is just too much of a price difference not to.
Yeah, I love that little thing. I will start of that as after I done with getting the supras ready for the IDRC race. Its gonna be my little street cruiser since i dont have to worry about smog. I have a built 18RG going into it that will be going turbo and getting custom manifolds. Im debating...
Well I finally got to drive the car today. I just went up and down my street real quick but I think I like it. I rolled into boost in second gear ( 8 psi) and it just nuked the tires. I cant wait to turn it up to 30 +.
Thats nto a bad price at all. I wish I knew about the black summit T fitting before hand because earl's only had it in blue. Oh well, Ill eventually get around to replacing all the braided line with the black stuff.
Yeah I wish I new this stuff before too. Even the summit fuel filters are made by trick flow, they are just a different color. Im going to be using alot of stuff like that on my celica so I can keep it on a budget unlike my money pit supra.
the 6 into 1 turbo collectors are $600+. I would Hope Ron charges more than $1500 for the manifolds because I know there is well over $1K in material. Rons manifolds are the Full-Race equilivalent in the MK3 world :naughty:
Hey Ron, Im not sure if your aware but RMR has a billet head flange for the
2JZ that matches those billet oval velocity stacks. They used to have them listed on there ebay store for $400 including a nice billet fuel rail and brackets. Ive been thinking about buying one myself for my next intake.
It is the nylon braided earls line and the fittings are XRP. I actually found out that the black summit fittings are made by aeroqupe so they are just as good quality wise but cheaper.
Here is a small video clip of it starting up so you can hear the exhaust. Ive got a lot of little things to clean up but it runs. And before someone comments, yes the exhaust is hanging low right now, Ive got to put the hanger back on.
