Can we get name brands of these spoken "green" coolants causing this problem? I'm really just curious, and not concerned that my engine/components are being destroyed. I use distilled water, and I think "tap" water is more likely the root cause of these problems.

OP sounds like she needs some basic TLC, but your oil doesn't seem to be over due at all. If you must bring it to a oil change place to get it done, I recomend bringing your own oil/filter for them.
Doesn't sound right to me:( Shouldn't bog or hesitate. Who did the rebuild? And why tear it apart with only 1200miles?
I would check your basic things like vacum/boost leaks, and timing. Codes I would also remove the boost controller until your confident the car is running properly.
Also...
I wouldn't worry about it man, and if you don't drive you car hard then I would also leave your boost stock. If you really want to fix it I would recomend removing your IC, getting a case of beer and a straight O-ring pick. The rest writes itself.

Turn you heat to cold before you turn off the fan and it should blow cold, I don't think I've owned a car that completly shuts off air when fan is set to off.
