I hate the idea of doing something unintended to my engine just so i can have it be within spec. However Toyota designed it the also designed it to have 36 psi at 3000 rpm and i do not. I really have no idea what to do with this engine but i hope i can figure it out.
WOAH! can you elaborate on this? mine was fucking up hard core today and its raining like a cow pissing off a flat rock. so many check engine lights (code 31) and stalling all the time...
I appreciate you trying to help me but as stated i DID use a brand new mechanical oil pressure tester and i had 33 psi at 3000 rpm and 7 psi at idle. All i was saying is i don't think the stock gauge would vary by ~5 psi daily. which is why i will check again WITH AN OIL PRESSURE GAUGE.
Edit it...
wrong i compared the picture in the first post to new readings on the stock gauge. its now on the 20 psi line at 3k rpm if the gauge is bad enough to change ~5 psi with no actual change in pressure in one week i am going to disconnect it because its pissing me off.
i have a leak that i was planning on fixing today but i got too buys :( but i Dont think its pressurized, it on the oil drain line. If i do get rod knock from this i am hopping it will be under the warrante i have for the engine until 6/18/10. But i don't know :(
so i just left this alone for a while now maybe that was a bad idea because now i am at about 20 Psi at 3000 rpm (on stock gauge) wtf!! does this sound like bearings?
OK i don't know whats up with mine then its ether yellow or green at full throttle and red while slowing down. no crazy sweeping or flashing lights just 1-2 bars light all the time.
Also its amazing what i can look at and not actually see, one of the vacuum lines was not attacked to the blue...
okay well... mine does NOT do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjSlw_7hNrU
mine sits in lean until i do some hard pulls the it goes up to the middle (center of stoich) and it does hang out there no flashing wavy bs like that one
Okay thanks for the info. i recently got a new accordion pipe so i am sure that has no cracks, but i will check the hoses and what not attached to it. also quick question, what is wrong with narrow band gauges? they generally do the same thing right? as long as it doesn't go to lean i should be...
hum i don't know how accurate the gauge is but its a Greddy and it says trust super tuning blah blah blah... i just checked codes and go a 34 and a 21 maybe that has something to do with it? oh and the car came with a narrow band a/f guage that i am pretty sure stays in stoich during boosting.
