Doesn't necessarily have to be a Supra. Or even a Toyota for that matter, so long as the threads match (do you have the threaded hole?). You could also just get a switch from Radio Shack, but the threads wouldn't match. You could probably make it work though.
Seriously no clutch switch? So you can start the car without pushing the clutch in?
Is there a spot on the pedal to mount a switch? You could just grab one off another Toyota from the junkyard.
Welcome. Car looks good. Glad you got it running.
You need a new mechanic. Changing ALL the sensors is hardly sound advice and wiring the knock sensors together isn't advisable either. Scared to hook it up? That's absurd. You'd be better off skipping that guy and doing the work yourself with...
The car is actually going 180 MPH?
My guess would be something snagged, snapped loose, and the momentum of the needle caused it to rotate on the shaft. Feasible? I don't know. But it's the only idea I've got.
The pump isn't going to matter, that's what the regulator is for. Base FP should be about 30 with the vac line on the regulator, or 40 without.
If the cam/crank sensor clips are loose, try replacing the housings. They are part 90980-10947. Your timing might be off because of a bad signal there.
7M-GTE and 1JZ-GTE use the same clutch.
I'd stay away from this one. Pressure plate looks stock (no reinforcements on the fingers), plus as Poodles mentioned, it's the wrong pressure plate in the photo. Think of it this way. You can spend the extra money and do it right the first time. Or, you...
I hope to have it "done" for the fall cruise. Once I get it running satisfactory, it'll be stripping it down again for paint. Hopefully that's pretty quick. Then everything goes back together + lots of suspension goodies and interior. Then it's to the tuner and dyno... then it'll be on the...
Oh and I also can't go over about 12:1 AFR at idle or it gets worse, and above 13:1 it stalls. (engine is at 190 deg F).
I think the timing calibration might be off. I need to find a timing light that will work with the 1JZ. Anyone know of a decent affordable one that can trigger off the...
The problem: the wire wasn't attached to the ECU. Looks like when I swapped the 2JZ plugs onto the harness I skipped over it. Why, I don't know. It's been a year since I did the work. It's fixed now.
The car has an random misfire at all RPMs. Tried with/without the DLI and same situation. I...
