    1JZ Translated Manual

Sorry guys, nothing recently. I'll see if I can get a few pages cranked out tonight.

Jon's 1989 1JZ single turbo restoration and build: Stellllllaaaaa!

Got the fuel leak fixed. Looks like I've got a bad coil pack. The car was idling rough, so I pulled the plugs again and the front 5 are carboned, the back one is clean and wet. Looks like I found the issue. The car runs no different with that coil connected/disconnected. I also confirmed that...

    Who's mk2

Maybe you should ask in the MK2 section. :stickpoke Come on George, you ought to know your way around this site by now. :P I wish SM did business cards. They'd come in handy for just this type of situation.

Jon's 1989 1JZ single turbo restoration and build: Stellllllaaaaa!

Put some new NGK 3330's in and it starts up every time now. I also dropped the base FP to about 30. It runs eye watering rich. I'm not sure what the AEM has for AFR units but it reads like 5.xx most of the time while the gauge is reading 10.xx. I also think the ISCV is a bit sticky. Sometimes it...

Car is running :D Set timing to 10 degrees and cleaned my plugs - they were horribly fouled from the timing being off so far.

The thing I hate the most about supras/my supra is.......

The old brittle wiring. The crappy respray job. The weight! The fact that I can't work on the motor without killing my lower back. The lack of aftermarket support and the fact that most owners are cheap so it's not going to get better.

Jon's 1989 1JZ single turbo restoration and build: Stellllllaaaaa!

So I decided to put the oil cooler on hold for a bit and work on getting the car running on the AEM. Josh (dok33) came by yesterday and gave me a hand. I wired the car based mostly on BigTSetter's thread on SupraForums. Thanks. Having those directions meant I didn't have to map all the...

Anyone using the Prosport Oil Filter Adapter?

Behind the AC pump. The ProSport sender won't fit, you'll need to get the line from Driftmotion: The stock sensor is 1/8 BSPT and the ProSport sender is 1/8 NPT, so you'll also need an adapter for that between the Driftmotion line and the ProSport sender.

    Reusable Oil Filter

It's funny how this has come full circle. Canister filters were the norm up until the late 50's/early 60's, then everyone went spin-on. I wonder how long until every new car is canister again :)

    JZA70 Wiring diagrams

Dunno exactly what happened, but I offered to buy the domain from Rick about 6 months ago, and he said he was planning on putting it back up. Hopefully he does. There are several mirrors for the wiring diagrams, including my site (www.1jz.com), but I think everyone would like to see the site...

    2JZ NA-T into MK3

So 24x12x3 core, plus the end tanks. Leave it to the eBay crowd to start including the end tanks in the measurement to make you think you're getting something bigger. My overflow is currently on the bench. I think I'll opt for a smaller battery and put it there. I had a 18" core intercooler...

    2JZ NA-T into MK3

What size is the IC? Looks like the same one I have (24x12x3). Mine fit up a lot more snug than that. The outlets are just below the frame rails. The only thing I had to do was remove the coolant tank. The P/S cooler should sit higher than that.

    2JZ NA-T into MK3

AFPR goes on the return side (front of the motor from the factory). The dangling stuff is your fuel pulsation damper. That attaches to the feed side. It can be bypassed and the line can be ran directly to the rail, or it can be left in place. Leave it in and your idle will be smoother, but it's...
