yeah. when i was pulling the extension housing off, I lightly dropped the tranny from like 3" to get them to seperate, I probably broke the transmisssion.

Ok, i put the newer styler bearing on and reinstalled everything and it does the same Mother Fu*king! thing! it starts tapping and crap.... but goes away when i push the clutch in.... I didn't unbolt the clutch kit and flywheel... i just left them....... Maybe there's a problem in the clutch...

well, that's why i would get a alluminum nut from a hardware store that matches the threads. If i do that, would it be ok? it wouldn't kill the starter, would it?

I had an idea to make installing my transmission alot easier. Since it's such a huge pain to bolt up the top bolt on the starter... I figured just welding the nuts to the starter, Then all i have to do it screw them in rather than trying to get a wrench on the back side of the nut to tighten it...

What throwout bearing are u using? I'm using the old style throwout bearing, and i think that's my problem. I'm going to reinstall it with the later style bearing and see if it fixes my problem.

It's really weird, Isn't it? It wasn't doing it until after 60 miles of driving. Replace your transmission and tell me if it fixed it, LOL. I don't see how it could be the transmission, I don't get it. I'm going to use this different bearing and see if it fixes it.

Yeah i ordered a new bearing and it's the same bearing that came with the spec kit. Mine makes some pretty bad noises when the clutch isn't applied, Pretty loud tapping.

If it's glazed then it will have to be mildly resurfaced, same steps as u mentioned. :)

So, Is anyone using a stock throwout bearing with there aftermarket clutch? Or are u all using the aftermarket bearing that came with the kit, that will Barely work?

Some machine shops may be able to resurface the pressure plate. Most Any machine shop will resurface the Flywheel, And that will make both surfaces smooth, shiny, and spotless. If you have an O'reilly Auto Parts in you area they do an excellent job and include a warranty if it cracks after or...
