And I think it should be in the 1J section because it's using a 1J head.
I plan to qualify for the site sometime this year. Once my section is done, if I ever decide to switch to a 3L block, I wouldn't want my section moved. It's still a 1J to me. The 3L block wouldn't be what got me on the...
What I'm saying is when looking at the engine build what is important in making 500hp or whatever power level the applicant has?
What are the power adders to get to 500+? turbo kit, cams, headwork, upgraded intake manifold, whatever. All of those upgrades would be specific to each head and...
We're not talking about stock cars. They all have to be over 500hp in the first place, so IMO the head is what's important.
Turbo kit, cams, headwork, upgraded intake manifold, etc. All of those would be specific to either head and would better be organized in a section based on the head.
It's not anymore complicated than it already is.
The only thing that would need to change would be for the website to say
"1JZ/1.5JZ -----2JZ"
Instead of
"1JZ ----- 2JZ/1.5JZ"
That's all. It would be easy considering the site doesn't have members in either section yet anyway.
The...
1.5JZ in it's own section would be fine too.
Either way, the point I wanted to make was that the two JZ sections looked to be grouped based on displacement.
It's Duane's site so he gets to decide. If he wants to leave 1.5JZ in the 2J section, then it is what it is. But I think it would get...
How can you call a 3L 1J a 2J with a worse head? The engine starts as a 1J then switches to a stroked block. It doesn't start as a 2J then switched to a 1J block. It's still a 1JZ but is noted as 1.5JZ for an informational purpose.
It's apparent the 3L 1J is grouped with the 2JZ on the site...
Exactly how is it 'pretty much' a 2J?
If a member with a 3.4L 2J stroker applies, where do you think it's going to be put?
In the 2J section.
1.5JZ is 1J stroker. IMO it should just be in the 1J section.
Just a thought but I think 1.5JZ should be under the 1J section not the 2J section of GTE power.
:dunno:
