I would phone Andy and get it figured out, he's a good guy. Sounds like you got the wrong rotor:(
EDIT: You can barely get one pad in??? Your certain the pistons are all the way in eh.
Mine flutters at low boost, but at full boost its just that annoying "psssh". Here's a video of mine.
OP, if you wanna see the difference between bov flutter and surge, simply take off the vac line to your bov...I wouldn't do it much, and I'm not responsible for any damage;)...
Ahhh touche, a engine and tranny limit the max speed of the DS. Either way I will spread some light on this topic since no one has chimed in on a CF driveshaft. If it does break I can also picture a "broom" like effect.
Might want to start your own thread;)
Well...Once again...I've drop a few bucks on the Poopra...
I'll let you know with a update to this thread how the carbon fiber drive shaft is doing:) I was told by the vendor that they haven't broke one yet on a 800hp MKIII:):):)
Yah there is no way I'm paying for stock parts. High speed runs aren't really my thing, 200km/hr is plenty, and about all I can get with 4.30's anyways.
Yah I was just begining to think the same thing. Just curious what are the limits of each driveshaft type.
Someone must have used them, come on people.
Toink: Turbo W58, clutch was slipping, and HG was "leaking" very slow haha. Going all out with a GTE R154.
Lol ok, thats a plus.
Can they take 500lb/ft? Can a aluminuim one take that? Will a stray rock FUBAR a carbon fiber DS? Basically I'm going from a W58 to a R154 and I'm not considering stock parts. Hoping to make around 400ish this year and 500 next spring when the turbo/injectors/computer...
I'm curious and the major differences(other than obvious) their is between aluminium and carbon fiber driveshafts. I'm assuming the the aluminium has much more flex to it making it worse for drag racing. Is the carbon fiber brittle?
Any info please let me know, and what you have used. Thanks...
Thanks Scruggs I thought it was just wanted to be sure.
Lotek A Pillar Pods
Well did the dirty...:( I'll update this post on how I made out with the cluster ect. It'll be a few months though...Along with some other threads that have died but I'm not finished:)
Went with the 2 pillar...
I'm finally gonna get a pillar gauge pod, gonna be likely a 2 pod Lotek one because I've read the 3 pod isn't such a good fit.
For the people who put aftermarket gauges in place of the stock ones did you use 52mm or 60mm gauges? Well 52mm fill up the hole so it doesn't look to gawdy? I'm...
True, but usually beating the crap out of it doesn't help one seal up;)
Sometimes they just need a good lesson to think about what they've done;)...but I'm sure it'll happen again.
