    Heater Doesn't Work

Check the VSV under the hood, and that the heater valve is opening. I had mine fail (While I was daily driving, during a Canadian winter no less) and that's what happens, is that you just don't get heat, because you get no hot water. the VSV is a relatively comon failure point. The Toyota VSV is...

need a good turbo outlet gasket.. suprasport?

Two different things. The gasket is a gasket, meant to go between the turbo and whatever you bolt to it. The flange is meant to be a start to making something to bolt to the turbo, which needs the gasket.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I went for a bit of a boot down the highway. I'd LOVE to say that that maximum speed was actually done in the Supra, but it was an aberration of the GPS while it had poor signal strength, and it decided that I must have done the 278km/h to get from where it thought that I was to where I...

Autometer Sport Comp Mechanical Speedo on w58 question

Well, it's the differential ratio and tire size that are going to make the difference. If you're using an A70 W58 then the output with a 4.300:1 differential and 225/50R16 tires will have the speedo cable rotating 637 revolutions per kilometer or 1026 revolutions per mile (As per info printed on...

7M Supra bucks at light load

So unplug it. You'll get the TPS code, but if the problem goes away, then it's a bad TPS.

    Spark plugs

Yep, back in the day, I used to file my plugs, too. That was back when a new distributor cap, rotor, plugs and points were part of the annual spring tune-up, and often, by the end of summer, pulling plugs and points to file and gap them was often just a good idea. If the rotor wasn't made to...

7M Supra bucks at light load

IndigoMk3 already mentioned, but this does sound exactly like what was happening with my ex-boss' '89T, which was a bad TPS. TPS was correctly adjusted, but would occasionally short the IDL to E2, causing a momentary fuel cut, which was perceivable as a quick buck. (And if I hadn't known what...

    Which clutch would you choose?

500 ft-lbs of torque limit your options to a stage3+ if not stage 4 or multi-plate. A stage 2+ isn't going to last. You'll put your foot down and then... What's that smell?

    Spark plugs

Call me crazy, but I like good metrics. "Ran a bit better" and "much happier" are very bad metrics. They're completely subjective, and as such are prone to placebo effect to the point where I would generally completely ignore them. The metrics that you DO have are all indicating that the...

Non ABS W58 into ABS Shell?????

You will need to add the complete sensor assembly in the tail housing to the non-ABS transmission to have the sensor work.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Step 1. Remove AFM from intake pipe and air cleaner assembly. Step 2. Spray inside of AFM liberally with carburator cleaner, until the inside is free of dirt and oil. Step 3. Re-install AFM in car. Start car, wait for CEL to light. Step 4. Pull codes, realise that you have an AFM code...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_year Wikipedia seems to say that it's October, but I know that the lots have had 2014 model year cars on the lot for over 6 weeks now, so that's as early as August. The summer is when the "xxxx model year blowouts" (Or Toyota's Red Tag Days) happen and by...

Are human beings this ignorant? A strut brace rant.

If you read the documentation on how Mazda stiffened the chassis, you'll see that the subframes are connected to those braces, so it's an apples to oranges comparison. Our subframes are definitely NOT braced to the shock towers. (Actually re-reading some of these articles, I don't think that it...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

My 1989 has a production date of Nov '88, but it really is an '89. If yours has a production date of Jan 86, then it will be one of the first Mk3s produced, since that's the month that they started production for the Mk3 chassis. In that respect, it's somewhat rare.

Picture of FIPG usage on Valve Covers during valve cover gasket replacement?

You'll snap the ears off of the cam covers long before you get there. I've seen it many times (though it hasn't happened to me, thankfully.)

Picture of FIPG usage on Valve Covers during valve cover gasket replacement?

I knew that my #3 cylinder head cover is in crappy shape, so I supplemented with FIPG when I installed it. I'm hoping that it keeps my spark plug wells free of oil.

    not impressed...

Weird. I was/am running 18 PSI on my T04 and never hit fuel cut (Even though I currently have a slight boost leak, I think from the HKS flange, as I wasn't able to replace the O ring under the BOV when I changed my IC piping over. My replacement has finally arrived from Suprastore, so I plan to...

Are human beings this ignorant? A strut brace rant.

@Nick: I was more clarifying. No offense taken, or intended. There are many pieces of incorrect information about a great many things in the Supra community, unfortunately. Many of these I will take people to task over, but a simple matter of nomenclature, I have become willing to simply go with...

    Targa Top Tool

Just remember. If they were smart, they probably wouldn't be thieves. Yeah, CDs are expensive to replace. I lost a collection of almost 100 at one time. Personal rant: The RIAA keeps insisting that we aren't buying the pieces of plastic, we're licensing the information ON the pieces of plastic...

    Time for a 7M-GTE. :D I replaced my 7M-GE for a blown coolant hose.
