    Coolant Leak

(If my wife reads this, I'll have some 'splainin to do.) I "lost" my 7M-GE to that little coolant line that goes from the heater core return to the water inlet. The little 90 degree bend one. That line split on me, and puked my coolant all over the freeway. So... I obviously had no choice but...

    BIC Targa Bars, impressions.

Well, my BIC Targa bars arrived today, but it wasn't until evening that I was able to give them a good go. (It was raining earlier.) Chassis flex: On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is the targa off, windows down, and 10 is my hardtop (Targa roof bolted on is about a 9) I'd give these a solid...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I'm expecting trapped sand in EVERYTHING. It'll all get cleaned out before a single bolt, stud or nut holds any of that stuff in place. You pulled the engine on the roadside? I'm impressed. I figure that if I tried that here, I'd get in a lot of trouble.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I had a productive day of playing with a powder coating machine. Well, first the sandblasting cabinet Then I did one with blue, and a metallic clearcoat Then I did a bunch of parts in gloss black, parts that don't show. test fit a few on the stand. Messed up on the intake...

Most improvements to the stock exhaust system will increase boost. Whether it's under or over FCO depends on a number of factors, including any other mods anywhere else on the engine.

Rookie Mistake...now how to ease the pain?

Careful of what advise you take from JBL. He's well known for saying that the Lexus AFM with stock injectors is fine.

No Power in Boost: Help Please

I'm still new enough around here that I'll try to help. Caveat there being that I'm still new enough around here that I don't know everything that JJ, IJ and the like know. :p

No Power in Boost: Help Please

Why not look in the TSRM. Page FI-27 Diagnostic code 32 reference Page FI-57 diagnose air flow meter circuit (Code 32) Page FI=28 Diagnosic code 51 and 52 reference Page FI-101 Inspect and adjust TPS You get the idea? The knock sensor is probably a busted wire, lots of info on knock sensor...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Weight shouldn't be the problem. My engine stand says 2 ton, which is 4,000 lbs. Weight of a 7M-GTE is about 300 lbs. (Probably under 250 dry.) Add in another 220 for me, and some change for the fencepost, and the total weight is a bit over an eighth of what the stand should take. Me bouncing...

No Power in Boost: Help Please

Fix codes first. I don't know about the 32, but 52 will have the TCCS retard ignition timing, since it can't monitor knock. You won't get any power that way.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I had 4 grade 8 bolts holding it on place. Yeah it bends, but it comes back when the pressure is off.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Well, it's the threads in the crank, but the worst thing is for the pulley. Since it's a dampner, it has rubber parts in it, which the torch isn't good for at all. If you're replacing it... Probably doesn't matter, but still, it's a bad idea. To get the pulley bolt off of my 7M, I needed my...

    rookie rebuild question

I bought the DM kit this time. Last time, I bought the Toyota kit, which was 4X the price, but since I was using the OEM head gasket, it seemed a good choice. I'm not going to use the oil pan gasket. TSRM says FIPG, so FIPG it is. The HG that comes in the DM kit doesn't look as good as OEM...

idle jumping? keeps moving from 1000-3000

Thanks Pi. Learned something new today. If fuel return still at 1,200 then? So if the ECU coolant temp sensor is unplugged, and there is metered air getting into the manifold while the TPS IDL is connected to E2, that would cause the described symptom, would it not?

Rookie Mistake...now how to ease the pain?

Clutch master replacement wasn't hard at all. I could have done it faster if I hadn't dropped the nut down the fender though. For the starter nuts, much harder without a second person (which is how I had to do it last time) and re-installing the nut afterwards... ugh. So once again, my starter...
