I say its fine b/c i have been driving on it for months and never went over the normal range in temperature. I assume everything is ok b/c i dont have a single issue with anything on the car. I see no one has answered the r-tq question ..... Should i r-tq or not?
Yea true but sometimes the books are bit over your head with car language :) some people need it to be .... lets says written in a way that every can read and understand it
working on cars is about following directions and remember how things bolt up correctly. I feel the hands on is way better than the books. I never read a whole book just what i need to know and basically asked people on here when i am stuck. Find a mechanic or person who knows alot more than you...
Hey thanks for all the feedback guys :) well how about this i rebuilt the stock motor back in feb i have put maybe 12,000 miles on her would it be a good idea to re-tq the HG? I have seen a couple threads saying not too but i assume they were saying not to b/c the motor probably has over 100,000...
So you are running a ct26 60-1 and stock fuel system? Personally i dont think the 440's are hitting that danger area in terms of their duty cycle from what i remember a good "rule of thumb" (not a percise way of measure but gives u a good starting point) is that the 440's are good up until the...
So what the solution? Sounds like you guys are saying send the block to the machine shop.... Most of my mechanic friends say just get the block nice and clean if there was no damage before and in my case i dont have any
If you are boosting the stock 7psi you dont have anything to worry about i m boosting 14psi on the stock ct26 and stock fuel and i am pig rich. I think its fair to say that the air that is being pushed at 14psi on the stocker is a bit more than the 7psi on the upgraded ct26. I am also...
You guys that have kept the motor in the car how did/do you guys prepare the block for a OEM style headgasket? The only way i am aware of besides taking it out and sending it to the machine shop is to use the big square grey brick i call it an "oil stone" i am not sure if thats the right...
the hard part is getting the spindal(*SP) to line up with the engine to bolt it back up...... . If u go to the hardware store and buy two extra long bolts that are thin and long enough to slide through the tranny and engine it make 100x's easier.
Taking it out!
1) Drop exhaust from the...

Its no worries i will be 22 in jan ..... But i have been working on cars since i was like 5 bleeding brakes actually pumping but u get the point. I have an 89 for almost model going on 6 years bought my n/a right before my 16th birthday. 5 yrs with a N/A and 1 with a turbo i know my car pretty...
Hell no i dont pull the motor unless it is broken .... u waste too much time doing that but it does make things easier to get too. But the question is time because you are going to be working no matter what. I rather work hard for 2hrs and be done than work for 8 and be comfortable ..... i...
Umm the hardest part was the pedal i agree how i never removed the seats i dont see why u had to i m 6'2 and 210 all i did was go head first under the dash and worked upside down ..... but the point i m making is that it can be done in one day pretty easy if you know what you are doing
1hr...
