What I meant by the Cooleeze pipe was the Turbo Inlet pipe, not the discharge tube going up to the 3k pipe/TB. I'm relocating my PS res because of that damn cooleeze pipe; the last time I put that thing on, it took me over 30min just to massage the thing past the PS res/bracket. The next time...
Bumper is off right now, but I did a test-fit when I mounted it -- it clears the bumper. I had to nudge the PS coolers a hair, but if I trim down the angle steel, it'd be a non-issue and would clear the fins no problem. I should probably mention that I mounted mine like the factory...
I got my intercooler to fit....had to get creative and make my own brackets, but it's on there. I'm sure I could put the under-car cover on too if I had one.
Back when I had my '87 N/A, there was a sticker on the factory air filter housing that said, "change oil every 10,000 miles for standard driving conditions, 5,000 for heavy conditions." 'Bout blew my damn mind reading that from a car that was 19yrs old at the time.
What's really funny is when you walk in with a part number (and they CAN look up by P/N) an they STILL ask you what car it goes to -- you just want to slap the shit out of them and yell, "It's fucking irrelevant you nimrod!" :evil2:
Nah, this thing's in there. It's the piece that extends down next to the crank. The other half pulled out with the dipstick when I yanked the motor apart...lol. I've got brand new O-Rings anyway, so changing it won't be an issue.
I wouldn't bother with the A/F gauge...it's just a lightshow. Honestly, I don't even know why they bother selling/marketing narrowband gauges...never did get that.
Speaking of Dipsticks -- I've got to transfer the guide inside the block to my new motor...how do I get that bastard out of there? Is it covered in the TSRM?
I have about a half a dozen Pelican cases that I just need to find replacement foam for...then my camera gear can go in one of those for traveling....but yeah, I always carry on my camera gear....and my laptop. I find it funny though, they always say you're allowed 1 carry-on and one laptop...
Buying a Supra that was half-assed more than I'd realized for too much
Doing a Headbolt retorque with a shitty torque wrench (led to me fragging the motor last year)
Not realizing half the shit I needed to do on my rebuild in a certain order...causing more delays than there should've...
I just recently found out some messed up shit about my Grandmother (Mom's mom) and her whole side of my family....needless to say, what I've heard about her is completely different from what I've known for the past 29 years....although my Dad told me when I started talking to that side of my...
My head guy said very little was removed when they decked the head, certainly not 2mm...I'll have to get a hold of the previous owner of the head and ask him about it.
As far as break-in, don't think I'll need to worry about that, I didn't replace the rings or hone the cylinders...just put...
Measured with 12" digital calipers -- block was 198.3mm, saddle to deck, and the head was pretty much 114mm even....114.0X to be exact. I'm going to measure my old head when I get my bearings out of storage tomorrow, just to compare...I know stock height for the head is supposed to be 116mm...
Ok, update...with the new measurements and me realizing my math was a bit off, looks like I need about a 3.6mm gasket....will 3mm still be safe? That's still a .6mm difference from stock, but I think the gaskets are 86mm bores, so will that compensate for that enough?
