No problem. I wasn't trying to start anything, just being a smart ass because I thought it was funny. No hard feelings.
Truthfully, I think C5 Z06 Corvettes are pretty savage cars. I wouldn't buy one, but you can't argue with their track record in LeMans/GT racing. I have seen them at Autox...
Sure its not the end of the world. But it took me 20min on my Nissan 240sx to pull the stock one and drop in a Walboro. It took me half the morning to get the Supra fuel pump out! Its the difference I was whining about, it just doesn't need to be that involved.
Yep. 'Cauz pistions need to see where they are going! :biglaugh: j/k man. MIL = malfunction indicator lamp
Here is how to check = http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/fi/FI_023.html
Your results say you are running rich. I wonder if it has to do with your o2 sensor placement?
Or...
Eh. Too variable. You order custom sizes every set will be different. I am sure they could give you a pretty accurate estimate when you plunk down your deposit!
Yeah pretty much any project car qualifies. My Nissan was that until recently. Now it is pretty much where I want it until I blow the engine or crash it. ( still no roll cage though, want one of those! )
My old Toyota is the new money pit. Ahh the life of a car guy.
So you have a header an no cat right there right? Is that a cat or just a resonator? I have mine off I can look at it tomorrow. If you still have the stock exhaust parts it won't hurt to put them back. Where is your primary o2 sensor? Like Johnathan1 mentioned, that could be a factor. Your cams...
Retarding the timing won't help. 90% of the time there are no tricks to passing smog. Your engine just needs to be running right. Start with the basic maintenance stuff, like spark plugs. Are they new? Is your timing to factory spec?
Yeah, I don't think you can get to all the spark plugs with out taking the TB off. I have not tried though, and I still don't know the 7M that well. Maybe someone else has a trick to get it done.
To do a compression test you need a compression tester. They are not too expensive. Its like a big tire pressure gauge that screws into your sparkplug hole in the cyl head. Pull the fuel pump fuse, take out all the spark plugs, open the throttle and and crank the starter until the gauge stops...
So you can't see where the leak is? Clean off all the slime and have a friend crank the wheel back and forth while you look for the leak. Do it yourself. Easy stuff. Some basic hand tools and your spare tire jack will be enough.
