1jz swap into 1990 supra.....this is a two wire plug, red with blue stripe and red with black stripe. it is coming off the the power steering, and seems to power up some sort of solenoid/motor thing. so with out it plugged in i dont have power steering. went and looked on my 87 and it does'nt...

probably because they thought the JZ was indestructible and pushed it to far. but realy..... you've seen more jz break? thats crazy! i always here of the 7m breaking and not being as reliable as the JZ:)

^^^Cosworth and borg warner made this turbo and im sure they know what there doing, lol.. i dont think they are going to go through all this hard work to just ruin it by adding a bov to the turbo. these two companies are just badass, point bank.........
found the problem with the tems unit! it was the little controller (normal-sport) by the arm rest, changed it out and it works now:) yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
any one know about the airbag light, my 87 never had air bag so i dont know the first thing about them.

t\milky stuff seems to be going away! went for a realy long drive then looked at the oil cap and wiped of the mily oil and then drove it back home, checked the cap and there was only a tiny little spot of white. drove for a tatal of 45min:) i will take it out again for a longer drive tomorow...
sound like a vac leak, plus exhaust leak. go through and check all the lines and zip tie them to be sure there not leaking, while the car is in cold start check with your hand around all the areas were the gaskets are on the exhaust . what is your vf reading, did you hook up your safc to read...

i did the chop stick trick and everything lined up, my friend was telling me i should give it a chance to redeem itself today too and in a week he will bring me his snap on compression tester to see what it reads.
so tomorow i will go for a nice long drive and report back, hopefully the cap...
IJ- i held the throttle wide open when doing the compression test. i have the 12v mod so i just pulled the fuel pump fuse and efi, is that ok? heard to pull ignition fuse but not sure if i should.....
grim- the battery is old, but seems to crank the engine good, i should borrow a charger and...
checked the timing belt and the marks both lined strait up at #1 TDC.
changed oil and saw that the intercooler pipe on the bottom passanger side was never tightend down! put all the spark plugs back in and took it around the block to see if the cap would get milky stuff on it, here is a pic...
if the timing belt was off a tooth would it effect the compression? with comression that low, would i still have all the power? mabey it being off a tooth is why i am getting black soot on all spark plugs as well!
this engine feels as strong as my 7m that was modded pretty good, rc550, 57...
