Should have used a regular socket or the box end of the wrench. I never use those types of things cuz they invariably strip everything.

Dumb question, but how did you manage to strip them? You were turning the right way right? If you're under the hood and the bolts bolt on going up, its backwards. Righty is all of the sudden loosey and vica versa.

14mm wrench or a 14mm deep socket and a wratchet. Might be easier from underneath though. Its really not that hard.

Quick thing to do is pull the O2 sensor. See if it has a good coating of oil on it, if it does, prolly your turbo seals. If you can tell by that, pull the turbo elbow and inspect that and the exhaust side of the turbo housing. That should tell you what you need to know. Again if...
