    Thought I'd share something.

Correct, HOAT coolants are a great alternative (easy to find and pretty cheap)

Coolant is not coolant... Yes the red is better.

    Need help ASAP please

Pretty common for the EGR to clog and burn a valve from doing so on those engines. As much as I hate those damn cars (most uncomfortable seats ever), the suspension is actually pretty damn nice and then can be thrown through corners far quicker than people expect :)

    Gas cap door stuck.

Hey, if you can't beat em, join em  Yes, the access panel for the power antenna (though it sucks for accessing the antenna anyway) and I don't think there's any change between RHD/LHD on that part other than the cable is probably longer on the LHD.

Nah, my forearms get plenty of exercise...

    Gas cap door stuck.

I could get my hand in through the access door in the hatch to pop it.

He had a leak, more than likely displacing the gasket. Overtightening in that spot would cause it to crack quite easily. Cause sounds pretty clear (i.e. what did he do? )

    broken parts in oil pan.

The more I look at it, the more I think it's completely foreign to the engine. Maybe a broken tool from when the engine was rebuilt.

Limiting RPM in MG-E? Keep idiots from screwing me!

Yep. The ignition and fuel could be completely off and it would still damage it if it's reved too high. It also means you lose your man card because you suck at driving

    Cold start Injector Differences......

IIRC they won't interchange at all because the flanges are at different angles (it's obvious if you try it). That is if you have one from a GE and GTE. They did revise the injector over the years though...

Limiting RPM in MG-E? Keep idiots from screwing me!

Factory rev limit is safe, and no rev limiter can stop an over-rev from downshifting to the wrong gear...

7m to 2j mani... Why not?

adampecush did it, but it was found to be harder than it sounds and too expensive to produce IIRC.

    "safe" numbers for 7M-GTE internals

Anyway, back to the original issue. The real answer is always "how much do you want to spend?" The #1 difference between the MKIV and MKIII guys is tuning IMHO. They tend to jump into standalones (and the required tuning) far earlier than the typical MKIII owner, and it shows. The highest...

    broken parts in oil pan.

Well, hard to really tell. I assume it's stuck to a piece of masking tape to get some sort of scale to how big it is, so it's really pretty small. It appears to be metal, and from a cast part. Thinking maybe a piece of the block from somewhere? Kinda hard to tell from one picture to be honest...

    "safe" numbers for 7M-GTE internals

Years ago when you could buy the entire front clip for relatively cheap (often with JDM aftermarket goodies on it) the 1JZ was a smart swap. Now, hell no. If you're going to swap, go 2JZ. If not, build the 7M. Everything listed as being "bad" about 7M's are just from age, and the 1JZ's have...
